I recently had to reinstall Business contacts for Outlook. I was also using Pocket PC business contacts on my HPrx3100. When I went to sync to two I get "attention needed" and it asks my to disconnect the PDA and reconnect. This does not resolve the issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have upgraded to BCMV2 and installed service pack 1. When I go to open accounts all the accounts are shown but when I try to add a new account or open an existing one the accounts form opens and then the error message " Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your setup" appears. On clicking on OK, Outlook with BCM closes completely. Same thing happens with opportunities but not contacts. I have uninstalled BCMV2 and reinstalled but still the same.Any ideas.

  • 5. linking e-mail messages to a record
I have tried to manually link e-mails from various e-mail address' to an account, contact and/or opportunity without success. These e-mails are typically quotations or imformation from various sources which I need to gather together in one place to collate all the charges related to my quotation to the end account. I have read and followed the help pages both with Outlook and online (both are different) and the e-mails do not appear in the account history or Business History. This feature is the main reason my company bought Business Manager as a trial before we buy more copies for our sales department. Can anyone help?

BCM 2007 B2TR Backup/Restore

Postby hooutoo » Sat, 23 Sep 2006 00:58:37 GMT

This question seems to have been asked but never adequately answered so
perhaps I give it another try.

My environment is Vista RC1 running Outlook/BCM 2007 B2TR at home and
Windows XP SP2 running Outlook/BCM 2007 B2TR at the office. I'm trying
to backup my extensive BCM DB using the BCM BACKUP/RESTORE dialog
provided within BCM/database tools.
To clarify before we get start, in my Vista installation there are only
two account, one is the built-in Admin account which I've enabled and
the second is my personal account which supposedly has admin
privileges. Of course this is not true because we all know that MS
didn't make "user admin" accounts exactly equal with the built-in
"Admin" account in Vista. And herein lies the problem which is as
follows;

I've been trying to restore a backup copy of my Office 2007 BCM B2TR db
from my office machine (the XP one listed above) to a new installation
of BCM B2TR on my Vista machine at home under my user account. It fails
with the following error message;

"Cannot restore this database because you were not authorized to
backup or restore this databases when this one was originally backed
up. For more information, please contact the database owner of the
systems administrator for more information. Your local database was
not changed."

When I logon as the built-in Admin on the same Vista machine at home
the database can be restored without any problem.

This administrative/user privilege #@&* really sucks but I would
greatly appreciated it if someone knows if there's a proper procedure
for this!!!!!!!!!

After restoring the database as admin, can the regular user use that
database from BCM?

The DB may only be accessed by a user after the DB has been shared by
the built-in admin. Of course the DB is owned by the built-in admin
account.

This is most probably a Vista security error since the backup/restore
procedure works when A) The DB is backed up and then restored by the
same user on the same machine or B) The built-in admin restores any
backed up DB from any machine.

I think this is a question for MS but I don't know who or how to ask.

1.Importing BCM 2003 backup in another language in B2TR and Outlook 2007 with BCM

I once downloaded the whole Office 2007.
With BCM it went completely wrong.
It as not possible to import the backup of BCM 2003 into Outlook 2007,
'Sorry, wrong language' the error message was. (BCM 2007 did not
convert my BCM 2003 database automatically). And so I had to end Office
2007, reinstall Outlook 2003 and BCM 2003, which took about an hour.
Now there is the Technical Refresh. Will I now be able to import the
Dutch BCM 2003 backup? Or will the conversion of BCM 2003 to BCM 2007
succeed during installation? Is there anyone having positive
experiences?

2.Restoring BCM 2007 from backups

I deleted some BCM "Accounts." Without telling me it was going to delete
everything associated with it, I lost a lot of contacts and the information
related to those accounts, like projects, phone logs, notes. I have a backup
from the previous day but what and where should I restore?

3.BCM 2007 backup and restore lost categories

Our IT Admin (who is not familiar with BCM) has changed my domain profile and
now I can't see my categories. I have a complete backup before this profile
change happened, is there any way to get my categories back into the Master
List?

If not is there a way to add the categories to the Master List without
having to relink the categories to my accounts and contacts?

Thanks,

Nathan

4.Outlook 07 B2TR & Outlook 07 BCM B2TR

Hi all,

I installed Office 2007, and then installed B2TR. All the core software is
working fine now.

But, I also bought (for a whole $1.50!) Outlook '07 BCM. I downloaded and
went through the whole install process, including the reg key and EULA
window, but before it installed completely I got this:

Wizard .exe
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to
terminate the application.

I've since read elsewhere that I can't install a pre-B2TR program, like
Outlook '07 B2, after I've installed Office B2TR. (Which sucks, because I
also bought Project and Visio, and hadn't installed them yet. I've only tried
Project so far, but it won't install either.)

Anyway, at this moment I'm downloading Outlook '07 BCM B2TR (BCMBeta2TR.exe)
Before I click 'run,' will it install when I already have Outlook B2TR
installed?
