  • 3. Data Missing in History emails, where did it go
I finally have the BCM working acceptably and so today I went to a contact to look up some information. There are a years worth of emails that are listed under the history for the contact. Every one of them has been converted to a "Business Activity". Not one of them has anything in the body of the message. In other words all of the content of the emails is gone and the only thing that is left is the hearer information and the subject line. What is goin on here? Jim

I have about 8 client machines running outlook 2003 which connect through to
a business contact manager. When I set this up a few months ago I had an
old win 2000 server{*filter*} around doing nothing. So I decided to setup
business contact manager on this machine (using the desktop SQL2000
engine) - this server does nothing else. All is fine but every now an again
the business contact manager freezes and cause all the clients to restart
their outlook programs. I have looked on the server and can see this is an
event id 7031 details below.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7031
Date: 07/09/2006
Time: 15:33:30
User: N/A
Computer: XXXXX
The MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this
4 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds:
No action.

This will normally cleanup on a reboot of the server only to reappear a few
days later. I cannot find any logs for the business contact manager which
tell me anything new. In addition I have set the service for the desktop
engine to recover on the first 2 errors but all this does is bide me a
little time.

Has anyone else seen this error and it there a cure?

Is there anywhere else I can get more information about what could be

Should I move the business contact manager to a SQL 2000 server and apply
registry hacks to the client machines?

Thanks in advance

The same files on the Novell server load instantly. Both

Any ideas, anyone?
