  • 1. Lost email during "Move to Folder"
In Outlook 2003 BCM, I right clicked an email dated 1/7/05, and then clicked the "Move to Folder" option. Then I selected the folder "Business History" under Business Contact Manager. (You can't select "Business Contacts", it says ...does not support...) I picked the Business Contact to put it in...and thought it would just save the email under this contact name. But it just saved the 'subject line', same as if you use Add > Business Note. So, since it was a "move to", the email body seems to be gone. Is there any way to get it back? It's not in "deleted" because I didn't delete it. Rather, all but the subject seems to have been truncated. Thanks for any ideas, or if there's an MS person, reporting it as a sort of bug in BCM.
  • 2. BCM auto-enters wrong date
I'm using Outlook 2003 with BCM. I just noticed that I got a read-receipt on an email (example below), and that it "automatically" got entered into the BCM history of the contact who sent it to me. Problem is...the read receipt arrived about 11:01 a.m. (Outlook put this date on it), but it got automatically entered and dated at 1:37 p.m. in BCM... I had shut down my PC BEFORE 11:01a.m., and around 1:37pm was about the time I re-started the PC, opened Outlook, and checked e-mails again. Is this a bug? Shouldn't it "know" the time of the email was 11:01a.m. I wonder if this will affect ALL emails, not just read receipts? Thanks, George ----Read receipt, shows in BCM at 1:37pm----------------- Your message To: ***********john doe*********** Subject: Lunch today Sent: Thu, 20 Jan 2005 10:45:12 -0500 was read on Thu, 20 Jan 2005 11:00:21 -0500
  • 3. Export all business contact manager details including categories .
I have set up business contact manager with all our company sales details. I tried to export the file to another user but this does not carry over all the data. I created a backup file of my Business Contact Manager which the other user has used to install the data in her Business Contact Manager. Unfortunately the Master Categories list does not carry over with the rest of the data. The other user now has to go and set up the Master Categories list manually. Am I doing something wrong or does the backup just not include the Master Categories list? Thanks deBruis
  • 4. send/recieve error saying i need to send file while nothing in out
I am getting a send/recieve error in outlook professional and the error says its trying to send a file. But when i go to outbox theres nothing in it. I have disabled outgoing messages so that no virus can send out files this way. I am worried this is a virus, but NAV does not detect any on my comp. Any help with this is appreciated.
  • 5. Problem with Business manager contacts
Helllo all, I imported a big list of contacts from Lotus Organiser and the contacts are in outlook contacts OK but I cant see them in address book. This means I cant add them to groups or distibution lists. The origianl contacts I had before the Lotus import are still visible in address book when I select contacts. Can this be fixed? BCM contact open error "string was not recognized as a valid boole

Outlook 2007 BCM fails to open one specific contact with the error "string
was not recognized as a valid boolean." This contact has worked properly
before. Other contacts open fine, although I have not tried every contact.
Everything else appears normal. I ran the database defrag/error check and
received no complaints, but nothing was repaired. How do I repair this (and
possibly other) contacts?

Hi Leland G. Hoover,

What are the fields which were set in this contact?
Can you please try comparing the contact form which works, and see if this
error is caused by setting some field with an improper value.

Sat,
I cannot open or even right click the disfunctional contact in BCM. The
contact happens to be me (?!) I do have a copy of the contact I had copied to
the regular contacts folder that works ok. The BCM copy used to work fine. I
did integrate BCM with Accounting 2008 and this is one of the few contacts
that would be affected. I suspect this is the problem.

I could just delete the BCM contact and copy in the regular contact, but I
am concerned that there may be a systematic problem that affects other
contacts or will recur. What do you recommend?

4.windows mobile phone not recognize business contact from bcm

I synchronize my Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2007 BCM between my computer and
mobile phone (Treo 700 WX). I have no Outlook contacts, only contacts in BCM
(that way I have a single SQL database with all information further
integrated with Microsoft Accounting Professional). When the phone rings, it
will not identify the caller. Is there a setting in windows mobile that will
allow the phone to recognize contacts from business contact manager that are
synchronized on the phone?

5.BCM Does not recognize duplicate contacts

I've read the help files and even checked online, but I get thesame
answer: Outlook is supposed to check for a duplicate name or email
address when you save a contact, but I never get any notification
regarding a duplicate, when I have definitely got a duplicate contact
in BCM!

I have tried to uncheck the "Check for duplicates" in "Contact
options" and restarted Outlook, then recheck the box and restart
Outlook. But I cannot get Outlook to check for duplicate contacts.
Anyone else having this problem? I have many contacts in Outlook
contacts and also now in BCM after importing from ACT. I want to move
all business contacts to BCM and get rid of them from regulat Contacts
in Outlook, but I keep getting duplicates. Any help is appreciated!
