  • 1. BCM completed Project tasks
In my BCM (2007) Project Tasks list, I'd like to move the completed Tasks to the Completed Tasks Folder, and thus clean up my Tasks list. I can do this with my normal Outlook Tasks. However, In BCM, the Task remains on the list. I also don't want to delete the task, as I want to keep a record in the Business Record. Is there a way? Paul
  • 2. Client side SQL instance for BCM
I posted earlier that I have integrated BCM and OA 2008. I was able to move the integreated database to an XP Pro machine that I call my server and put the database in a different instance of SQLEXPRESS than the default MSSBIZ. Anyway, I'm able to use the database on the server without having BCM or OA2008 installed. All I need in the BCM Admininistrator tool from Microsoft. So, I was abot to uninstall SQL from my client computers, or at least turn of the service to SQL, but then I had a thought. I set the clients to use the off-line database if I lose the connection or am on the road. I'm assuming if I use the off-line database, then I still need SQL on my computer and the service running?
  • 3. How do I print the picture included with a business contact?
Is there a way to print the picture that is included with a business contact WITHIN the business contact itself (such as when you print it out via "Memo Style" can you include the picture of the person too? Thanks!
  • 4. BCM instead of OC
Hello all, is there a way to use the BCM as the default address book, instead of the OC? I keep the data up to date in the BCM and have to erraze all the OC on occassion then update with BCM, which really gets old. Thank you,
  • 5. Moving database from local computer to another.
First off, I have integrated BCM with Office Accounting 2008. I backed up BCM, assuming that when I back up BCM, I'm also backing up OA 2008. I then Moved the .bak file to a Windows XP SP2 machine on my LAN. I used the default SQLEXPRESS instance in Manager Express to restore that backup. I downloaded and installed BCM Database Administrator from Microsoft. I openend the program found the restored database and selected "share" to set up which users would have access to the database. When I get to the screen that is supposed to list users to give access to, I get an error saying data is null and null cannot be called. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it because I have integrated databases and not just BCM?

Right but this was BCM for Pocket PC. Anyways, I had to upgrade the
phone to Windows Mobile 5.0 and install Windows Mobile Device Driver for
vista.

1.How to make the Contacts on a Pocket PC Phone default to Business Contacts Manager contacts

I am running MS Outlook 2007 with Business Contacts Manager. I also have
a Pocket PC phone which I sync with Outlook.

Currently, my personal contacts in Outlook are synced to the default
contacts in the phone. If I want to look at the BCM contacts in the
phone, I have to go to Start -> Business Contacts.

I would like to have the contacts from Business Contacts Manager be the
default contacts in the phone, so when I go to dial a contact, the list
of contacts are those from BCM, not my personal contacts.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks.

2.Share/Copy .PST data PC#1 Outlook 2003 {--} PC#2 Outlook 2007 Business Contact Manager

I have 2 PC's with Office 2003 Pro.

I want to install the Office 2007 Beta on one of the PC's, at least
the MS Outlook 2007 module, and I want to install THAT with the
Business Contact Manager 2007.

Will I be able to safely copy my data, i.e. my .PST files back & forth
over the coming months between the PC running Outlook 2003 WITHOUT BCM
and the one running Outlook 2007 WITH Business Contact Manager?

I mean is there any incompatibility between the data files used by
Office 2007 and Office 2003?

I know that the Business Contact Manager stores its data in MSDE (SQL
Server), but is that separate from the Contacts, Emails, Calendar Data
in Outlook?

3.Add contact to Business Contacts in Business Contact Manager f

If the manual way of doing it that Monica describes does suit your needs,
there is a quick way to add a Business Contact from an e-mail. Especially if
you want to add many at a time, in a few clicks. The method is a little
obscure, but here is how:

1. In your inbox's list of incoming (or any other) mails, right click the
e-mail.
2. Then select "E-mail Auto-link".
3. A dialog box pops up with all of the addresses in the mail.
4. The ones that you currently do not have a Business Contact for have
"unknown" in the column.
5. Select the one(s) you want to make into Business Contacts and click OK
6. The Business Contact has been added, and will have its e-mail autolinked
as well (which can then be turned off again if you don't want it).
7. Now fill in the rest of the Business Contact information as appropriate,
as Full Name and e-mail address are already populated in the Business Contact.

Thanks for your interest in Business Contact Manager for Outlook.
