  • 1. Pick a new color
Using Outlook 2007 and have put a check mark next to "mark my comments with" and filled in the text I want. That's working great. There is another checkbox under that that says, "pick a new color when replying or forwarding" and I cannot seem to figure out what happens differently when that box is checked or unchecked.

Hi, I got an Microsoft Excel file with list of emails addresses in it. Is it possible to import or somehow get the email addresses into Outlook so that I don't have to type them in? Also, since I would like them in a group can I do that at the same time? Thanks, AJS
  • 4. accidentally deleted Outlook 2007 reminder
Not noticing that my cursor was inside the reminders box, and wanting to delete an e-mail in my inbox, I hit delete and accidentally deleted a reminder and, unfortunately, have no idea which one, which scares me a bit (e.g., "give mom her pill or she will go into a coma" - OK, I exagerate). Is there any way to undo a last action inside the reminder popup in Outlook 2007? I see forum posts about "recover deleted items" option under Tools (in Oulook 2003) but I do not see that in my system of Outlook 2007. My deketed items folder seems to have some dismissed reminders but far few than what I'd expect, so there must be some special condition that caused me to find those. But none of them seems to be the one I might have accidentally deleted. Bottom line: Is there any way to find out what i deleted? Thanks! Dean

Outlook Express cannot send/receive emails

Dear All,

I would like to ask Outlook Express experts out there about a certain
problem I am having with my Outlook Express.

1) I am using Windows 2000 pro + Win XP

2) I am using Outlook Express for my email client

I have a particular problem where my outlook express will suddently not be
able to receive or send emails. It will complain some unknown socket error.

To solve this problem, I will delete the inbox.dbx and launch outlook
express to let it re create a new inbox.dbx file. This seems to solve this
problem.

1 thing I noticed is that the inbox.dbx is always about 2gig in size. Could
this be the problem? Does the inbox.dbx file grow until a certain size where
this problem will occur?

Can this problem be recreated at will by someone {*filter*}? If it can be
recreated, can some one please give me the steps I should take to re create
this exact problem? Or is this some random problem?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Leo

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in
one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
 http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;newsgroups
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
 http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;newsgroups
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
 http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;newsgroups
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE
 http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;newsgroups

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup
references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to
post but it works for some people)

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

see if www.insideoe.com has any information on this problem - it could very
well be because of the file size.

[Cross posted to "microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general", and

Generally, you will find better expertise in the appropriate group. But,
yes, your Inbox size is to large. It looks like you are storing all of your
email messages for several years there. You are risking corruption of the
data, or its loss. Never use the five default folders for storage; always
create new folders and move message to them for archival storage. The
default folders, Inbox.dbx, Outbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbx, Deleted Items.dbx,
and Drafts.dbx are subject to corruption, and loss of messages. Treat them
as temporary storage and you will be much better off.

1.Outlook Express - Cannot Send POP3 Emails (& Cannot Receive Yahoo

I have setup to receive my gmail, live, and yahoo emails in Outlook Express
2007. I have successfully received the gmail and live emails, but I have not
received any yahoo emails.

Furthermore, I am not able to send any emails from any of the email accounts
and they messages are all sitting in the outbox (unsent). With the Yahoo
account, I receive the following error message:

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was

What could be the problem? Please let me know if there is something else to
try or double check to ensure that I have setup the accounts properly.

2.Cannot send email, but is able to receive email in Outlook Express V6 in MS ME

Iam using Outlook Express V6 in MS ME and tried to send an

4.Outlook Express cannot send or receive email; cannot send to or receive from newgroups

The environment:
Network Server: SBS 4.5 sp6a
Client: Windows 2000

After working without any issues for months, all of a sudden my Outlook
Express 5 and 6 (I upgraded) generate the following message when attempts to
send and receive email fail:
The connection to the server has failed. Account:
'MyAccount:pop.myISP.net',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0E
I can surf the web. And I can send and receive email via Outlook through
Exchange 5.5 sp4.
But Outlook Express fails. I have deleted and recreated the accounts in OE
to no avail.

Any ideas on what causes this? And what the fix is. I have looked at some of
Microsoft's KB and tried the solutions suggested, but they do not work.
Surprise! Surprise! ;o( Other clients are able to receive POP email, so I
do not think it is something at the Server. I'm stumped!

Thanks for your help.
