My wife is starting a new business venture from home and is used to many features in Outlook from her old company. I've learned that some feature are not available because our home computer is not set up using Microsoft Exchange Server, but an Internet mail service. Is there any way around this?? Can I set up a single home computer to utilize MS Exchange Server?
  • 2. Cannot generate email to any of my Contacts
I'm on an Exchange email server with my company, so the default address book is the Exchange one, and it just works. That's fine most of the time. But - I have added a number of contacts to my Contacts folder - I can see them when I use the Contacts tab. But when I create a new mail message, then click the 'To' button, and use the drop-down in the 'Show Names from the' box - Contacts is not offered as one of the available sources. Further - if I try to generate a 'new message to contact' from within the Contacts folder, I get an error message. Can anyone suggest a solution please? I'm working with Outlook 2003 Thanks, Jeff
  • 3. Outlook 2003 not sending emails for one account
Hi All, I have two accounts setup under outlook 2003 which i just started using on a brand new dell computer. My sbcglobal Home account works fine but Work account will not send emails. I receive this error message: "Task 'Work - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).', "when trying to check my email. Also, if I use the test settings buttons under the account setup screen, I get this message: "Send test e-mail message: The specified server was found, but there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct. To access these setting close this dialog, then click More Settings and click on the Advanced tab." I have tried temporarily disabling my virus software which is pc-cillin internet security 14 if that helps and still the same issues. These same settings worked with outlook 2000 and outlook express and now I cannot get it to work. I assure I have tried all the standard fixes like uninstalling and reinstalling...I even went to a working station at the office and looked at the seetings there and mine are identical in every way. Anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks! Tony
  • 4. Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments:
I received an email with an important attachment and Outlook blocked the attachment. How can I turn that off so that I can receive the attachment. I know how and where in OE but I can't find anything in Outlook. I'm using Outlook 2000 sp3 on Win2k. I'm retrieving from a pop3 account. The attachment is an update to some shop equipment. Brad

Attachment is not password protected.

My company sends attachments (office files) to clients via
the internet. They usually password protect these files.
Is there anyway to have outlook tell the user that the
attachment does not have a password? Sometimes they forget
to put the password on the attachment...

Thanks, J.R.
