1.Need Help - Free/Busy
I can not get Free/busy service to work and I believe I
have done everything correctly. Hopefully somebody will
point me in the correct direction.
We are running Windows XP, with Office XP SP2, connecting
to an Exchange 2k server. Clients are behind 2
firewalls. We do not have a web server or which to
implement one at this stage.
We are wanting to share free/busy information with
external people.
I have set up a passport for the users, using there smpt
address for Exchange.
I have ticked publish and serach free/busy in Outlook as
well as running the /clear free busy switch when opening
Outlook.
I get an error message when I run Free/busy "An error
occured while using the Microsoft Internet free/busy
service. An error occured while using the Microsoft
Internet free/busy service. The cause of the error could
not be determined."
Any help is greatly appreciated.
2.Free/Busy data, help needed
Our company is on the verge of implementing Outlook as our calendaring and
scheduling tool. The free/busy data does not work as I expect it would for
invite requests. Ideally, all attendees invited would show as tentative on
the free/busy views until they actually viewed their meeting request in their
mailbox. What I'm finding is only the attendees that have the Outlook client
running are getting updated as tentative (or if they act on the meeting
request then a status of accept/decline/etc shows up). The problem this
poses, is that if someone is out of the office on vacation and their Outlook
client isn't running, their requested meeting times are NOT blocked as
tentative for free/busy searches. Some of our executives are traveling a lot
and when they are on the floor, they are booked into meetings. The
knowledgebase help I've found so far reinforces my findings.
Is there a way to have everyone's meeting requests processed as tentative
automatically for free/busy search purposes until they can act on the meeting
request in their inbox whether they are running the client or not?
We are also using an auto accept agent running as a service on our exchange
server for resources. It will accept meeting requests automatically for
resources such as conference rooms and AV equipment. Our resources are setup
using a CAL. Anyone know of an equivalent agent that would process meeting
requests in all users mailboxes as 'tentative' automatically? This would keep
the Free Busy map updated at all times.
Thanks

Publish 2 months free/busy information on the Server. Update free/busy
information on the server every 15 minutes.
I don't know why this is here. I have never shared my calendar except with
my pda. Thanks for looking into this.

5.Need help configurig outlook 2003 client for use wiht exchange server using outlook web access
Hello,
Here is my problem. I am trying to configure Outlook 2003 to access an
exchange server. The IT person gave me the following information.
server: https://email.domain.com/exchange
user name: XXXX\xxxxx
I entered these two as given to me in the exchange server settings.
However when i try to connect or check names I get an error message
saying outlook could not log on.
I also am not asked for my password or given a place to enter the
password.
Before you tell me that it can not be done, I have used the server and
user name above to connect and access the exchange server wiht
Microsoft Entourage 2004 on my Macintosh. So it can be done but so far
not wiht Outlook 2003.
I assume I have missed something. I even checked the 'more settings"
and could not see anything obvious.
If you can shed some light on how to properly configure Outlook 203, I
would appreciate it.
