I am unable to open the attachments in my emails. I am using Outlook 2007 When I try to preview I get the following error message: __________________________________________________________________ This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer: Microsoft Office Outlook message and item previewer To open this file in its own program, double-click it. _________________________________________________________ When I double-click nothing happens. Can anyone help? Thank you
  • 2. Users Guide
I'm just starting to use Outlook. Everybody expects me to know how, because it's so simple! But, being the old hose that I am, I just can't figure out some things. Is there a users guide I could get so I can study the old fashioned way & possibly get comfortable? [Windows XP/Outlook 2002]
  • 3. linked contacts returnes an error - Outlook 2007
I'm using Outlook 2007 under Vista Home Premium. (I should probably also mention I imported contacts a year ago from Outlook 2000.) Just now I opened a Contact and clicked on a linked Contact. (This 'linked' contact is shown under the Notes field and next to the small Contact window at the bottom of the Contact.) I go to click on that linked Contact and receive the following message - Cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient. An internal function returned an error.[end] Why do I have this problem with Outlook 2007 when I did not have it with Outlook 2000? Thanks, DH
  • 4. Slow response while checking email
This has been true forever and across multiple systems. All XP Pro. All running OL2003 SP2 with all current updates installed. No Exchange, just POP email. When sending/receiving email Outlook slows down the whole machine. CPU utilization goes way up and it takes seconds sometimes to get UI elements to respond. It just seems that it is best to leave it alone until it is done rather than fight it. Is there a way to deal with this? Perhaps change Outlook's priority level or something like that? I mean, why does it require 80% CPU utilization to check and receive email. You should be able to tell it to go slow and let you get your other work done. Thanks, -Martin

Outlook Offline folders not synchronizing

Postby Donna » Tue, 04 May 2004 22:09:17 GMT

Since upgrading to Outlook 2003, I have been unable to
synchronize my offline folders. I have followed the
instructions in help, but when I choose Work Offline, I
only see items from before the upgrade. I have applied
all updates to Office 2003. I have also run a repair, but
it still does not work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Donna

Delete the ost-file and let Outlook resynch with the Exchange server.

1.Calendar does not fully synchronize to offline folder

When I synchronize my exchange mailbox to my offline
folder (outlook.ost), then connect to Outlook 200 offline,
my meetings are not present in my calendar folder.

I have over 600 items in my calendar , however only 89
items are shown to have been synchronized to the offline
folder.

I've toyed with a few settings and performed an Office
2000 repair. No luck.

Someone please help me!

2.offline folders do not synchronize

Since upgrading to Office 2003, my offline folders do not
synchronize. I have followed all instructions, but it
doesn't work. I have applied all updates. Any suggestions?

3.OL2003 will not synchronize offline folders (with Exchange 2000)

I've upgraded from Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2003 and now find that I
cannot synchronize my offline folders. The send/receive group I
created with OL2002 that worked OK does not work with OL2003. The only
way I can fix the problem is to create a new send/receive group. If I
copy an existing send/receive group I get the same problem.

I've tried reapply the folder options in my old send/receive group but
this doesn't help. If I press ctrl+F9, the folders synch but will not
update automatically if a new message is received into the folder.

For me, creating a new send/receive group is a big deal as I want to
rollout OL2003 (without cache mode) to a couple thousand laptop users
ahead of upgrading to Exchange 2003.

I've seen plenty of other posts with this problem but no real
solution. (Once again I don't want to recreate profiles or
send/receive groups for each user).

Thanks.

4.Calendar folder doesn't synchronize with offline folder..

Hi

I have a very annoying problem. The (olny!) calendar folder off Outlook
2003 doesn't synchronize its offline folder any more. In Eigenschaften
-> Synchronisierung I can read that the calendar contains 500 elements
but the offline folder only 150. Whatever I try the offline folder
doesn't synchronize. Synchronization works perfect with all other
folders. Nor I apply any filters either..

Any ideas?

Thx
Gerhard

5.System Offline - Outlook Hangs - Synchronizing Folders

Office 2007 Ultimate
XP Pro SP3

I had an Internet connectivity problem and had to take my computer offline. When I started Outlook
I got a message from the tray icon saying Outlook could not reach the server and would be working
offline. Then it turned into a different icon and the mouse over tip says "Microsoft Outlook is
synchronizing folders."

Outlook is "Not Responding". The status bar says "Send/Receive Status 60%".

Is there a problem using Outlook offline? Why does it say it is synchronizing folders when there
isn't anything to synchronize them with?

If I kill it it just reopens and hangs again.

Is there a way open Outlook without an add-ins getting loaded (in case this is a add-in problem)?
