  • 1. Edit labels option is greyed out in a shared calendar
I've been using shared calendars in Outlook 2003 (using an exchange server) for some time now, but recently wanted to change labels on one of them and for some reason this option is greyed out for me. I was looking for an anwser and apparently there are some guys who had been having the same problem, but nobody managed to sort it out. I was told that it might be a problem with permissions, but as far as I'm concerned I've got all the required permissions: owner of the mailbox, delagate, owner of the calendar. Are there any other permissions which are required for this to work or there is something else which is preventin me from changing this? I forgot to mention that there is one particular calendar which allows me to go that option and to make changes there. Any ideas guys? Regards
  • 2. Meeting Request & MIME Headers (Outlook 2003)
Hello all, I've recently upgraded from Office XP to Office 2003 - my main issues here is with Outlook 2003. I spend some time in clients offices and their employees send me meeting requests via Outlook (they're using 2003 as well and I assume they're using Exchange 2003). I'm receiving these requests through POP3. Under my previous installation of Outlook XP meeting requests came through all ok (in as much I rec'd them without headers - I couldn't accept or refuse the invite). However, since I've moved to OL2003 the meeting request message comes through as a full plain text email with the headers and all sorts of info appearing in the email body (as do acceptances of my meeting requests to them). Is this a known issue with OL03 or is there a setting I have to change in my OL setup? I've tried googling as many permutations of the problem as I can but can't seem to find an answer. Should I post a scrubbed copy of an email as an attachement - would this help? Cheers SDM
  • 3. Stop users seeing calender details
Hi, Running SBS 2003 and Outlook 2002/3. Is it possible to share a users calender so that other users can only see that they have an appointment and not the details of the appointment? For example if an MD has a meeting; he wants his PA to see that he has an appointment in his calender but not that it is a meeting? I know you can select private appointment but this user wants all appointments to be like this. I have read that you can do this by changing Outlooks sensativity in advanced options, but is there a way to do this using exchange permisions? When I look in AD at mailbox rights the users has loads of inherited permissions but I dont know where these are inherited from? Hope this makes sense. Thanks very much - Tim

Outlook Starts and Can't read some Reminders

Postby QWxhbiBB » Wed, 06 Feb 2008 23:26:01 GMT

None of my reminders are working on the calandar. I have used the cmd
switches of outlook.exe /cleanreminders and outlook /resetfolders neither
work. This is office 2007 running on a Vista machine. I have read all the
Microsoft help and can't find any other suggestion-- Should I uninstall and
reinstall the application ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Alan,

This would not repair an Outlook profile.

You could try it with a new Outlook profile:

3.OWA: reminders can't be deleted/dismissed, read mail appears unrea

Hi,

I am working in a professional environment with Outlook 2003 cached on my
notebook, but also with Outlook Web Access on any computer. The problem I
have is that when reminders pop-up in OWA, they cannot be deleted or
dismissed, this is literally the message in the pop-up.

Second thing is that when I read mail, it appears unread the next login (or
with switching folders) until I have read the mail on my notebook (cached). I
am able to dismiss or ignore reminders in this way too, and then they won't
appear in OWA any longer.

Our IT department says that there isn't a solution for this, you just can't
dismiss reminders in OWA 2003. Is this true?

Many thanks for any reply.
