auto-populating the company name field when creating a new con

  • 1. Distribution List e-mail shows all recipients in TO:
When I send a message to a Distribution List, all the recipients show up in the TO: area instead of just the Name of the Dist. List. i.e., I have a Distribution List called "Charity". When I send an e-mail to CHARITY, all the members are listed in TO: Also, when the individuals receive the message, all the members e-mail name with e- mail address show up. I just want CHARITY to show up in the TO: box. I don't want everyone to see everyone else's address. Thanks for any help. We do not use Exchange.
  • 2. outlook is beyond redemption
outlook is the dumbest program i've ever seen. i'm trying to save a sender's email address into a specific group within my address book but somehow outlook does not allow you to do that. there are completely stupid and useless fields such as "IP Phone" and "View Map" but there isn't something as simple and logical as saving a person's email address into a group in the address book. the people who design microsoft's programs must spend all day thinking about color schemes and zero time on the real stuff. outlook is by far the most tragically braindead software available on the market today. excel is not too far behind.
  • 3. Contact (Outlook Address Book)
Hi There I have a user who's cancats see his contacts under the global address book.If he goes to properties of the contact and select the outlook address book then the "show this folder as an e-mail address book is greyed out hence we can't see it under the global address book. • 4. Offline/Online Folders - Synchronizing (Contacts)
For some reason, I have 2900 contacts in my Offline folder but only 250 of them appear in the online folder. Of course, I want them all in the online folder so my PDA sychs properly and so I can access them when logging in remotely. How do I move the contacts from the offline to the online folder? I am afraid that by synch'ing the two folders, the online foler will overwrite the offline one, and I'll lose all those contacts. I am using XP, Outlook 2003. Thanks. vandebunt_dirk(remove this)

Version of Outlook?

is the earlier contact selected when you go to Actions, New contact... ?
If it a series of new contacts, use drop down on the Save and New button -
Save and new from same company.

2.Auto populate in "To" field when creating new message not working

Hi All,

One of the users at my orangization has some issues with Outlook 2003. When
the user starts to type an email address or contact in the To: field,
outlook usually fills in the rest since the user has sent messages to this
contact before. Now all of a sudden, Outlook is no longer doing this.

All of our users are joined to SBS 2003 domain running exchange 2003 SP2.
None of the other users have this problem. Any help or advise will be much

5.Populate Company field from Contact field in custom task form

Using Outlook 2002 or 2003, creating a custom Outlook form based on the
Outlook default Task form. On page 2, I want to select a contact from
the Contacts folder. Then, I want a second field COMPANY to
automatically populate with the chosen contact's company name. I've
been through the Help file, online searches, and an Outlook book and I
think it's too simple to even be an example. But no matter how I set up
the Value and Validation properties of the Company text box, I cannot
get it to do the lookup and auto-populate. I have unsuccessfully tried
placing the Contacts and Company control and fields on a frame, and
also tried to calculate the value using a formula. Any idea what I am
doing wrong?

Controls and fields were dragged and dropped from Field Chooser,
Frequently-used fields. Properties of these fields:

  (Choose Field): Contacts
  (Type): Recipient

  (Choose Field): Contacts
  (Type): Recipient

  (Choose Field): Company
  (Type): Keywords
  (Property to use): Value
