In an Exchange environment (Outlook is a client for Exchange Server) - what's the difference between an Outlook Address Book, Personal Address book, and the Windows Address Book (WAB) ? In Outlook, how do you make sure that the Personal Address Book and the Windows Address Book is the same on the local hard drive ? Can you point me towards an article that spells out the relationships (in Exchange) between Contacts in "Outlook Today, and Contact items stored on the local hard drive ? I'm running Win 2k pro, and Outlook 2k locally - but I don't know the version of Exchange that's running on the network. Thanks, Mark Flynn

  • 4. Importing address book from Juno
Greetings, I am trying to import by address book from Juno into Outlook Express in Win XP Pro. Juno is no help..., and apparently there is no easy way. I can form a comma delimited file of the addresses (I assume "comma delimited" means separating the addresses with a comma, right? But when I use the file/import/other address book/comma delimited file facility, I was able to get about a dozen addresses in, and then no more will come in. It says the import has been completed, but nothing shows up. Any ideas? Yours, Earle Fox

The choice is to use default, I did that and the phone number fax phone numbers only show up with the catergories? Do you have to map each piece of data for all 21 contacts for about 11 fields? I tried it a few times and only get partial results?

Outlook XP. not seeing contacts others put in public folders

Postby U29ob21hIEtub21l » Fri, 05 May 2006 23:31:02 GMT

We have Outlook on the server. We all enter into public folders and then it
automatically sychronizes . However, I am having problems with one computer
not being able to see the new information. Specifically, we have a folder
called homeowners. When we enter in the homeowners contact information this
coomputer cannot see it. They have Outlook XP. They do not have the
"Sychronize with workgroup" option on "Tools".

1.Public Folders Seen using Outlook but not seen in OWA

I have several public folders where the default and anonymous users have no
access (folders invisble). The users that have rights to the folders see
then just fine using Outlook via exchange but the same user logs onto Outlook
Web Access and the public folder is not seen.

What did I do wrong here?

2.Seeing Activities in Public Contacts folder

We have a bunch of contacts that we want to share. We've created
Public folders and copied the contacts into those folders.

Now we can see each other's contacts, but we can't get in the
Activities tab and see anything.

We know we can copy them and take ownership and all that, but what we
really need to do is see updates info for each contact.

Help. Please.

4.OL 2007 Forms and not seeing new contacts created for the public G

A few years ago I created a form to be used with Exchange's public GAL. It
has and is working OK.
I am now running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007 and ran into this problem. When
I go to the public GAL and create a new contact using a form I created after
it is saved I don't see the contact. If I go to someone elses PC that is
running Outlook 2003, I see the contact I just added and yes I have full
Admin rights to my PC and the Exchange server.
So I was wondering if the form could have something to do with it.
If I right click on the GAL public folder and click properties and then
click the Forms tab I see the Forms associated with this folder. If I click
the Manage button on the left windows it's blank and on the right window I
see the contacts form. Here's one thing I can't find any info on. What does
the Install button do?
Could there be anything else that would cause the new contacts not to display?
