1.Outlook 2003 prompting for POP3 username/password
Hi,
I have just recently pushed out an upgrade to Outlook
2003 from my Windows 2003 SBS to my Windows XP Pro and
2000 Pro clients. The install worked fine, imported all
e-mail and contacts. I then converted all PST mail
stores to Exchange mailboxes that I have enabled on the
SBS. Here's the problem: Now, whenever Outlook 2003
attempts to check the POP3 e-mail account (which is
hosted at a separate ISP), a dialog appears prompting for
the POP3 username and password. Interesting thing is,
the dialog is already filled in, and all the user does it
hits 'OK' and Outlook proceeds to check mail.
Is there any way to eliminate this step from the
process? What happens is that a user is working in a
program, this dialog gets behind the active window and
the user never hits OK, therefore they never see their
new e-mail. Also, when the user's are set to check for
new messages every 5 minutes, it begins to get annoying.
I have verified with the ISP that the mailbox is NOT
getting locked from checking every 5 minutes. It is
simply Outlook 2003 prompting for the user to click OK
each time it attempts to Send/Receive.
Any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Josh
2.Rejected Password on POP3 Account.
Every time I try to access my email, (one of two that come into the same
mailbox), I receive a logon message asking for my user name and password
(which are already on there). When I hit OK, the box just reappears over and
over. The error message I receive is 0x800ccc90 (password rejected). I've
changed the password to no avail and read the article on how to fix this
problem, but still don't understand what to do.

3.Stop receiving the name & Password prompt for Server POP3 & SMTP
how can I stop receiving the Internet Email window for
POP3 and SMTP server everytime I SEND or RECEIVE
something? I have already logged my user name and
password along with selecting the indicator to Remember
Password. During setup I selected to Enable Macos. I
have removed and setup a new account twice closed out of
OUTLOOK inbetween but still receive the same User ID and
Password prompt for both the POP3 and the SMTP server?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken
4.Outlook using wrong username to authenticate POP3
I have a client using Outlook configured for (Internet
Mail Only) to access my POP3 server, from a Windows2000
Professional workstation.
When he attempts to receive email, he gets the logon popup
and has to enter his password, even through the checkbox
to remember password is set in the account profile.
Looking in the my servers event viewer is see a 680 and a
529 Event with logon failure.
The funny thing is it's trying to logon using his machine
username not his POP3 account username.
What is causing Outlook to try using his machine username
instead of the user name in the internet account?

5.Outlook changes POP3 server & username
Every time it starts outlook 2003, it changes the POP3 server from shawmail
(ISP's internal alias) to localhost, and changes my username to
username/shawmail. This causes it to not be able to connect. I currently
have one exchange server (online mode), and 5 POP3 addresses (offline mode).
It doesn't affect the exchange. This is a very big inconvenance, as I have
to manually change the addresses & usernames.
