I have Outlook 2000 with SP3, I have been encountering many p.c.'s as of late that are hanging with an email in the outbox, if you click on "File" "Exit" you get hour-glassed, the only way to exit is to use Task Manager and kill it. I have run the Repair for Office and it seemed to fix it, until cold boot, then problem is back.
  • 4. Attachment won't open if associated program already open
W2K, Outlook 2003. If I have a hyperlink in an e-mail and click on it, it opens up Internet Explorer 6 and goes to the site to which the hyperlink points. However, if I already have IE open (doesn't matter what site I'm on) before clicking on the hyperlink, nothing happens when I click the hyperlink. The same thing happens with attachments, such as Excel. If I don't have Excel open and wish to open an Excel attachment in an e-mail message, it opens fine. If I already have Excel open, the attachment won't open. I don't care if it opens a new IE or Excel window, or uses the one already open and opens my attachment/hyperlink there. Either way is acceptable, not opening at all is not acceptable. Any ideas?
  • 5. Outlook freezes everytime
My outlook (2003) freezes everytime I click on a message with an attachment. I tried everything, repair, virus/spyware scan, re-start, update... My current PST size is less than 1 GB. I found one method to get the program to work, that is to conduct a detect and repair EVERY single time I start the program and then restart and outlook will function normally. This is a pain in the neck, please help!!!

Web toolbar keeps popping up!

Postby QWRhbQ » Tue, 29 Apr 2008 18:48:00 GMT

Hello

I'm using Office XP and in Outlook use Word for emails etc.

Whenever I open up a new email, or reply to an email, the stupid web toolbar
pops up. I close if but if i create a new email again, or reply to an email,
it just pops up again.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this please?

close the toolbar, close the message form. reopen the message form. it
should be gone. if not, delete the outcmd.dat file.

1.Outlook Web Access Broken - No Pop-Ups

Recently, I can't use OWA from one computer. I can get to my mailbox and see
all my messages, but I can't do anything which would involve opening a new
window (e.g. open message, reply to message, create new message). This is
extremely annoying. I know OWA is fundamentally sound on the server, and I
can do everything if I sign in using 'Basic' client, since in this case all
actions are performed in the main browser window. But I'd really like to get
this working properly again. Here's what I've done:

The Web site is in my Trusted Zone.
I've disabled Google pop-up blocking
I've disabled IE pop-up blocking. (In fact I get an icon which says 'Pop-ups
were not blocked'.
I've disabled windows firewall
I've disabled my ad-blocker

Windows XP Professional
IE 6

What could the problem be?

Thanks for your help.

2.I want to keep calendar view toolbar from popping up

How do I permanently turn off the "calendar view" toolbar? It keeps popping
up.

3.Outlook incomplete "Standard" toolbars keep popping up

When I move from e-mail to e-mail message in Outlook, I get incomplete
"Standard" toolbars that keep getting added.

This started several months ago after a blue screen.

I have since wiped off Office Professional completely and re-installed, but
the problem persisted. Now I've upgraded from Office Professional 2002 to
2003 (XP) and the problem still remains.

This is quite repeatable. The only difference seems to be how complete the
"Standard" toolbar is -- sometimes it has all the buttons, sometimes just a
few or 1, and sometimes no buttons at all. When you right click on the
toolbar area to manage the toolbars, there are several entries named
"Standard" that correspond to the extra toolbars that get added.

I'm guessing it's something in the Registry possibly, since the application
re-install didn't fix it, but I'm open to suggestions to help troubleshoot
and resolve this PIA issue. Occasionally because the toolbars get shifted
around, I've deleted e-mails when trying to move from one e-mail to another.
