  • 1. Outlook is marking my emails as open on it's own, how to prevent?
I open outlook to find that emails I haven't read from the previous day are already marked as opened and read. This also occurs during the duration of the day. How do I prevent this from happening?
  • 2. notification of emails coming into managed mailboxes...
We have several users who manage other mailboxes from their outlook 2002 clients. They have asked me if there is any sort of option that can be set that would notify them of messages arriving into these 'managed' mailboxes. Currently, with notifications turned on, they are only notified of mail messages arriving in their own personal mailbox. Is there any option at all to allow notification of incoming emails to other mail boxes? Thanks, Brad
  • 3. detect Outlook message events
Hi - this is my problem: I need to execute a process when a specific e-mail message arrives in Outlook (with a specific sender, subject or maybe some string in the message text) For example, I want to execute script.bat each time I receive a message from the user "xyz" How can I do that ? thanks and regards, Nicola Attico
  • 4. Need 'Do Not Warn' junk mail setting
Outlook 2003, pop only (no Exchange) I am trying to locate the flag in the registry that is turned on/off when the dialog pops up and says that a message is being moved to junk mail, until the user checks the box that says not to ask anymore. Have not been able to locate the flag that says whether to warn or not. I want to distribute this reg change to a group of users who are not bright enough to check the box, but have no problem complaining about the dialog popping up!!
  • 5. OL2007 - .pst size much larger then total folder size?
After compacting, my .pst size is much larger then what is reported for the total (incl subfolders) folder size under Personal Folders properties. The .pst is 231 Mbytes, the total reported under properties is 165 Mbytes. Any ideas on how to compact out the remaining dead space? Thanks. Eric

THANKS!

I also tried putting three spaces at the end of each line, and that appears
to work as well.

I must be missing something here. I tried indenting each line with three
spaces, but I still get the line breaks removed. I am using Outlook 2003. Any
additional ideas about what I could do or what I might be doing wrong? Thanks.

I can't duplicate the problem here. You can try indenting another space or two.

Also, note that the line break stripping occurs only on plain text messages, not for those in HTML or RTF.

1.plain text format emails remove extra line breaks from Signature

I have settings to "plain text." My signature has several lines:

Name
Title
Company
Street Address
City State
Phone
Fax

When I check a sent email in my sent folder, the signature looks like this:

Name
Title Company Street Address
City State
Phone
Fax

Along the top of the email I see the message "Extra line breaks in this
message were removed."

When I click on the message, the signature looks like it should (with
Title/Company/Street Address all on separate lines).

How can I fix this?

Thank you!

2.Extra Line Breaks In Plain Text Emails (Remove Option Already Tick

Hi

Using Outook 2007 & Vista

Plain text emails are displaying with extra line breaks - I have the 'Remove
Extra Line Breaks' option ticked already!

When I reply to these emails my plain text reply is double spaced also. The
only way I can correct this is to change to HTML, select the whole email and
change the paragraph spacing from 'Auto' (seems to be the default) to '0 pt'.

Don't remember having this problem from day 1, so guess it's something dumb
that I've done, but trawled the internet & can't seem to find a solution.

Thanks

Justin

3."Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages" setting

I had this setting checked, but in some instances when I replied to plain
text messages and put a hyperlink on a new line, when I look at my reply in
the Sent Items folder, I notice that the auto-clean feature removed the
carriage return negating the intended effect of having the URL on a new line.

My question is, will having this checked/unchecked affect what the recipient
sees, or will this depend on his own settings? Put more simply. Does
checking/unchecking this setting affect the actual reply, or only what I see
on my end.

Many thanks,

Ken

4."Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages" seems not to

5."Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages" seems not to wor

Though I've ticked the box "Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages",
whenever I reply to plain text emails an additional, empty half line is added
after each line.

It is only visible to me, not on the recipient's side (at least in the one
test I've made).

Any thoughts on how to fix that?

Thanks,
Henrik
