My old XP PC died, and I replaced it with a new XP machine. I have my Outlook.pst file from my old machine, but cannot open or mount it on my new machine as it says I do not have permissions for that file. I installed the same version of Office XP, and use the same username on the new PC. How can I get my information for use on my new machine? As an aside, I mounted my old hard drive (as drive E:) on my new machine, can't boot to it as there is a different interface for the new and old drives. Worst case scenario, should I disconnect all other drives, see if I can boot to the old drive, and do an export? I'm really looking for a more simple solution.

I tried converting from pop3.email.msn.com to pop3.live.com, as directed in an email from MSN in January, 2007. It doesn't work - a Network Password popup box continuously reappears, and if I close it, the following error message appears: Task 'pop3.live.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: ' I'm running Office XP Pro on Windows XP Home SP2.

Vince,

Thanks. Yes I do.

I receive the following 2 messages:
Task 'mail.comcast.net' - Sending ' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'unable to
send the message. Please verfiy the e-mail address in your account
properties. The server responded: 550 24.92.149.177 blocked by
ldap:ou=rbl,dc=comcast,dc=net - > 550 Message sending error.

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. (Then it lists my e-mail address, the subject of the e-mail
and the Account info 'mail.comcast.net'),
Server:'smtp.comcast.net',protocol:smtp,SERVER RESPONSE: '550 24.92.149.177
blocked by ldap:ou=rbl,dc=comcast,dc=net - > 550 Message sending error.

I also just got off the phone with my ISP (comcast) and they indicated that
it is not an ISP problem, just an Outlook problem and that all I can do is
either reinstall MS Office or try to contact Microsoft.

What is wierd is that it worked this morning and then when I got home this
afternoon it would not send just receive.

Please help.

Thanks.

Adam

Hi Vince,

One more thing. I just rentered all of the information in the E-mail
Accounts box and then attempted to Test Account Settings. Each time when I
click on Test it comes back with the following message:

Send test e-mail message: Unable to send test Message. Please verify the
E-mail Address field.

I have done this at least 4 times and each time no luck.

Thank you for your help. I truly appreciate. If this still does not work,
do you know where I can get a phone number for support here in the US?

Thanks.

Adam

I am also having the same problem, it started yesterday 8/21/2005 for me.
Do you by any chance have Norton Internet Security installed?
It seems my problem started happening after I used LiveUpdate.

if you disable Internet Security you can send and receive email. I dont
think you want to do this permanently. Sounds like a problem with Norton
Internet Security.
