I accidentally pressed 'send' after attaching five photos without reducing the size. I realised it would create a problem when it was still sending five minutes later and ten minutes later. I could not delete it nor open the message as it said message had already begun to transmit. That was one week ago - it is still trying to send each time I press send/receive and slowing down everything - it is very frustrating and causing problems for me running my home business. Please help! I tried the office assistant option of going to Outlook in safe mode. The firewall option arguably was not applicable in my case, nor did I feel comfortable trying option 3 - I don't think that would have worked.
  • 2. Receiving onlymessage Headers
Recently installed outlook 2007 Beta. Some newsletters including Microsoft are displaying only the message headers and not the body of text either in the preview pane or when the message is fully opened. E-mail format is HTML... not changed any settings from those used with Outlook 2003. Any advice would be welcome.

  • 4. Does Outlook keep logs of users activities?
I was wondering if Outlook keeps any kind of logs on what users do with Calendar items. The reason I ask is I believe I am being sabotaged from the inside in relation to my job. I scheduled and important meeting with all the information I needed for it in outlook. When I came in on Monday the meeting is no longer in the calendar. Things like this have happened before and I have a suspect but the particular calendar it had to go on has far to many people with full access to be able to narrow it down. If there anyway to find out who might have deleted this particular appointment from the calendar? Please let me know if anyone has any ideas. I do have access to the suspects' machine if their might be something on the local machine that deleted it vs. the server. Thank to any who may help.
  • 5. 0 characters on message sync with activesync 4.1 and outlook 2007
After installing office 2007 beta and upgrading activesync 4.1 (since 3.8 was not working with the beta), after syning the inbox, it has 0 characters for the message body on each message. What can be wrong? Is it a bug for office 2007 beta?

Why does outlook 2007 convert HTML to text?

Postby Y3Nsb3llcg » Fri, 13 Mar 2009 01:12:03 GMT

Every email that I receive is converted to Text. Don't see an obvious way to
turn off this "feature" in tools or in junk mail filters.

thanks,

Chris

Because you are set to read all emails as text. Change it in Tools\Options\Mail
Format

That is not the correct location for that option. It is in Trust Center.

There can be several reasons for this.

1.Outlook 2007 converting HTML to plain text (Here's a possible fix)

I have read a lot of the posts on this problem, because I too have had a
number of messages converted to plain text from HTML in the past 2 weeks.
Although removing anti-virus may fix some of these problems for users, I
didn't want to turn off scanning incoming email.
I have found that a continual culprit is the automatic Microsoft upgrade on
Vista OS(which I have) where a 'Data' folder is added to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data. By eliminating
the 'Data' folder you could fix the 'no mouse' problem in Word previously
(check February/March posts). I just checked for the Data folder showing up
again and if it was there, maybe that would fix the Outlook problem too.
Guess What! After I took it out again using Regedit, I was able to receive
email in HTML format loaded with pictures and links. Not sure if this will
fix everyone's problem, but it fixed mine AGAIN!

2.HTML is being converted to text in outlook messages

I have a mixed environment of Exchange 2k3 SP2, and Exchange 5.5 SP4.
Currently, the Ex5.5 server is acting as the bridgehead, so all
inbound/outbound mail passes through the IMC on that box.

My problem is with HTML content within emails. I recieve the messages ok
(they are displayed as HTML), but when I forward them, the email loses the
HTML content, and displays it in plain text.

I have checked the "HTML" box setting in the IMC on the Ex5.5 bridghead
server. Is there anywhere else that this needs to be enabled?

Any help is appreciated.

3.Outlook Converting Email Messages Sent To Me in HTML to Plain Text

My Outlook is converting messages sent to me in HTML format to plain text for
some reason (this occurs even before I reply so I know it is nothing in my
formatting options for replies or forwards). I have Office 2000 and it sends
messages in HTML as set up just fine. My encoding option for recieved msgs is
"Western European (ISO)". Thanks in advance.

5.Outlook 2003 converts incoming HTML email to plain text automatically

I've got a user running Outlook 2003 and recently all incoming HTML email
(internal and external) is automatically converted to plain text. This is
not a desired function. The header in the opened email has a message that
"this email was converted to plaint text". I've looked everywhere but can't
find any place where this would be intentionally configured in the user's
Outlook client. Any ideas how to stop this?
