Hi I have outlook 2007 beta 2 with WDS beta installed. Search on all items worked for a few days then it started to hang outlook. What I did to troubleshoot so far: 1. repaired office 2. compacted .pst files 3. tried to repair the .pst files but that didn't work as scanpst crashes with missing dll 4. unistalled wds 5. reinstalled wds 6. rebooted ;) wds search on all items still hangs outlook. cheers marco
  • 2. How do I prevent my custom stationary from tiling?
When I attempt to create custom stationary using an image, Outlook automatically tiles the selected image and there does not appear to be a way to disable this. I just want the image to appear once, instead of tiling, if possible. Anyone know how to do that? The steps I've taken are below: Tools / Options / Mail Format tab / Stationary Picker box / New / Start with blank stationary option / Picture option

BCM and the loss of Beta data

Postby VG9t » Wed, 14 Feb 2007 23:41:01 GMT

I have the trial and now have lost all my BCM data. I was getting the
following until I deleted the BCM portion that was being loaded.

Outlook 2007 trial small business. On start up I get three error messages
that data entered in the beta cannot be opened in the contact mgr. So I say
ok to all and Outlook opens. When I click on the business contact mgr folder
under all mail items I get the above error message.

Help?

How do I get all my data back?

I also can't get anyone to respond so I am putting this everywhere!

Don't! This is a newsgroup not a chatgroup, responses could take a while.

21 days should be enough, shouldn't it?

Sure, but multiposting it everywhere is a waste of time for people who spent
their time trying to help you as they cannot see follow ups of all your
posts. If anything crosspost instead of multipost.

1.Importing from .bcm file -- partial data loss: help!

I wanted to transfer my business contacts from one computer to a
replacement. Seemed like the easy way was to export from the original
into a .bcm file, then import same file onto the new computer.

This appeared to work fine, it seems that all contacts imported
properly. Phone numbers seem OK. But I just noticed that
approximately 60%+ of email addresses (and some home/business
addresses) are missing on the new computer BCM application.

Has anyone else experienced this? Would I be better off doing this
over exporting/importing with a .csv file?

Thanks!

2.Data loss in BCM 2007 with shared SQL 2005 database

A client is trying to use BCM 2007. The database is on their SBS 2003 Server,
running SQL 2005 WorkGroup Edition. Right now, there are really just two
users on the LAN. The main user is doing testing and reports a problem with
losing newly saved information. Her description is below. Does any of this
ring a bell with anyone?

Thanks in advance

=========================

"So what it is doing is losing newly saved information. I noticed it first
when I would change what account a business contact was linked to. I would
save and it would think for a minute and complete the save. However, when I
went to see if it linked it to the new account it had done nothing. It is
progressively getting worse. I am now noticing it in almost every area. I
have also seen it do the exact same thing to accounts and business contacts
when I: linked an email, added information to comments, changed a spelling
typo, changed or added a category, etc. Every time when I went to try it
again it would eventually work correctly, but sometimes it is on the second
try and other times it takes 3 of 4 times. So far I haven noticed it
completely loosing accounts or contacts, but there is so many I not sure if
I would notice one gone. It all seems to be when things are being edited.

Also very often when I have generated a list that I am editing items from
the list will disappear and it will say nothing to display. An example is if
I am in business contacts and have it arranged by categories and I open and
change something in a contact, when I save it will bring me back to the
original list but when I try to scroll to the next one the list disappears.
To scroll I have tried to use my mouse, the scroll bar, and the arrows on the
scroll bar. Nothing seems to make a difference. I have even tried to click on
the list when I returned, thinking it trying to move me to a different area
but it also didn help. I have to go to the accounts list and then back to
the business contacts list to make it work. Sometimes my list will be the
same, sometimes it is not. It seems to me the problems could be related
because I am always editing when it goes crazy. But on the other hand, no one
but John has been using CRM other than me editing, and he isn using it that
much. I did ask him and he has not encountered the same problems. Sorry to
give you such a tedious problem but I just scared it may cause big problems
when everyone starts to use it. Please let me know if you need any more
clarification or if I can help because I understand that issues like this
aren always easy to find the source of."
