  • 1. How to make tasks from other folders appear on outlook home page
I am supervising a number of projects which each have a large list of tasks. To make the individual lists easier to maintain, I created tasks folders for each project. Unfortunately the task list on the homepage (quite useful I think) only show tasks from the actual 'task' folder and there does not seem to be a way to include any other folders (like for messages). Can somebody help me out here with a tip or explaining how to organise tasks more efficiently. Grouping tasks by projects and sub-projects seems to get confusing and overwhelming very fast. Thanks for your help.
  • 2. I can't open .eml attachments- OE says to associate a file. How ?
Using Outlook Express 6. Can't open many attachments. Most, I think, have the extension.eml. I get a message like" there is no program associated with taht action. Use files Control Panel to create an association." First, I can't find Files Control Panel. 2nd, When I go to lookup the program that uses the extension, I find it is Outlook express. But I can't associate Outlook Express with the attachment. It may be because OE thinks it may be a worm, but how do I work around it? I saved the file, scanned it, and then tried "open with" and got similar results.

  • 4. Outlook 6 does not open on win98
I have a problem with Outlook express. It happened just after I tried to get it to work with Gmail POP3 using there utility . There is a manual option too . However now it shows the splash screen and there is an error saying that it cannot start because it could not start the "Internet Account manager" then there is another saying MSOE I think could not initialize. I have solved this by creating a new user account. BUT here IE6 starts misbehaving . Some links get activated but an equal number dont. For example in Yahoo the initial screen opens up but when I try to go to the Inbox nothing happens. many impossible problems of mine have got solved here so I hoping this one will get a solution too. The above problem has been around for at least 1 month. I tried a reinstall of Win98 but that does not complete. -- Anil Bhattacharji, Meerut,India
  • 5. Outlook mail size max limit
Hi, The outlook mail size has exceeded the maximum limit and hence I am getting a pop-up error message to delete mails from my accounts to create some space. I have even archived some folders manually and by Auto-Archive function. However, I would not prefer deleting mails permanently from my mail box by (SHIFT+DEL). Please suggest an alternative solution.

Sent Items missing after OL 2007 upgrade from OL 2003

Postby Kevin » Sat, 30 May 2009 10:31:08 GMT

This is an Exchange 2003 Enviornment and the user's OS is XP. We had Office
2003 Professional. I upgraded to Office 2007 Professional Plus and when we
opened Outlook everthing works fine except that all Sent Items have gone
missing. I upgraded 7 other computers with no problems. All settings were
the same on all machines.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Kevin

In article <#AQH30$ XXXX@XXXXX.COM >, XXXX@XXXXX.COM
says...

OK, just an idea...

Does that user have the wrong filter set when in "Sent Items"? (make
sure the Advanced toolbar is turned on, check the filter setting, I
think the default is "Sent To"). (Perhaps they have a different filter
set). ?

2.missing calendar after Importing old .pst OL 2003 to OL 2007

Have successfully imported my old .pst OL file to OL 2007 (on Vista), but
find that all my old calendar notes are missing.
Do I need to import any additional calendar files for this, can't remember
how I did that last time.
Appreciate any help on this!

3.Easytransfer of OL 2003 to OL 2007 hangs at OL start up

Hi
I decided to move all my stuff off the old XP/2003 machine by means of
Easytransfer. 4 accounts were moved but only one of them had Outlook active.
On the new box which had Vista 64 Ultimate with all updates applied and 2007
also updated the MIG files were imported. This resulted in a RAID crash and a
subsequent rebuild and agony......
After that the first account was logged in (no previous OL user) and
configuration of OL and evreything went fine. Then I logged in with the users
that had an extensive OL 2003 mailbox - OL hung at the start up with a
detached window "Configuring Outlook" and body text " Configuring Outlook
Accounts" - Sure! = No I/O - No response - Nothing! Had to kill it through
task mgr. After tht another start and no it comes up in safe mode amd
everything goes fine. After waiting for everything to simmer down I exited
and went in again. To my surprise it throws up the detached window
"Configuring Outlook" again and goes into a freeze. Getting a bit worked up I
log out and log in a the first user and now this account behaves the same!!!
I've tried clearing out the 4 files (actually only found 2), I've tried the
"Outlook Tools 2.1" with every possible switch but as soon as I don't run
under safe mode OL will throw up the "Configuring Outlook" and lock up.
I'm running on a fresh Vista 64 with 4 GB Ram and 1 TB RAID 5 and I'm
getting very tired........
BTW - The other things transferred by ET worked surprisingly well even
though they caused some "contamination" with things that were unrelevant.

4.Upgrade OL 2007 BCM to OL 2010 BCM Beta

I am in a real bind. I loaded Office Pro Plus 2010 (Beta) which installed
fine and running well. My problem is trying to load in BCM. I have
attempted at 8 times and nothing...I have sent frowns to support and to the
blog but I have not received a response.

The reason I am in a bind - as a condition of upgrade the OL BCM 2010
installation deletes 2007 BCM. I can't get 2010 installed and I don't know
that I can reinstall 2007 BCM which I don't really want to, because I am
anxious to work with 2010 because of all the new features. In fact I was
briefy with another CRM software, however, when I saw all the new features of
2010 I thought I would go back.

This has not been a pleasant experience because it appears the BCM Team is
responding to others but not my requests for assistance.

If you can suggest how I can get this issue resolved I would be greatly
appreciative. I do not have access to my data and it is hurting my
productivity.

Thanks for listening and I hope to God I can get someone to help!

5.Cannot send OL 2007 email from Office 2007 App if OL is not runnin

If OL 2007 is not open as an active application and I try to send a document
from an Office 2007 application (e.g., Word, Excel) as an email attachment
using the Office App command sequence [Office Icon] > Send > E-mail, the
Office App hangs (perpetual whirly circle) and has to be terminated with Task
Manager. If OL 2007 is running then that command sequence works fine. (A
draft email opens with the App document attached.)

I'm using Office / Outlook 2007 and I'm pretty sure that SP-2 is installed,
but I can't figure out how to confirm that. I'm using Vista but I can't
figure out how to determine what version.

Any suggestions (besides trying to remember not to do that if OL 2007 is not
running)?

Thanks.
