  • 1. How do I print the folders list (not the contents) in MS Outlook?
I want to print the Outlook folders list as a sort of table of contents of how my e-mail is organized. So far all I've been able to do is print the contents (messages) of one folder at a time, when all I really want is a list of the folder names, hopefully within their original hierarchy. I'm using MS Outlook from the 2007 Office Suite.
  • 2. Calendar Appointment Colors Don't Match
I have a user who opens up multiple calendars at the same time. She is using Outlook 2007 and it shows each calendar in a different color. The problem is the colors do not match mailboxes as they are shown in her navigation pane. If she keys in on color she may look at the incorrect calendar. She already has SP2 for Office installed as well. Any ideas?

We are currently rolling out new workstations (Windows XP with Office XP). Users receiveing these new workstations are currently reciveing erros messages when going into outlook. At this time, it is not all users but some select users. Fore Example, when I go into Outlook 2003, instead of bringing up the Inbox, I get a message on the screen (pane) where the inbox would be that it was "Unable to display folder". For some users it is there inbox while others have the same problem on the sent items folder or the deleted items folder. The same users can get to their inbox/deleted items/sent items folders if we fire up there old Windows NT workstation running office 97. Any idea or suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks V

Error message when clicking mailto: link

Postby QW50aHBvcnRlcg » Thu, 06 Dec 2007 01:07:01 GMT

I have a problem with Outlook 2003. I use Excel to keep student rolls and
have created a mailto: link with each student's email address in Excel. When
I click the mailto: link Outlook starts to open up , but then I get a message
that says, "The object could not be found." I cannot get mailto: links to
work in IE either. Same problem. I am running XP Pro SP2 and Office 2003.
I have tried the fix in the KB of going into folder options and making sure
the mailto link actions are correct. They are, and it still doesn't work.
Have also tried to go into internet options, and switch default mail handler
to another and back. Still not working.

Any ideas? I'm about ready to unistall and reinstall Office, but would like
to find another option if anyone has a better solution.

2.Error when I click on mailto: links

Greetings,

I get an error message when I click on any links that use the mailto:
code. Here's the error:
Title: Problem with Shortcut
Text: The amil program was unable to send mail.

I use Windows 98 and Office XP. I use Outlook XP, not Outlook Express
as my default mail app.

I have ensured that Outlook XP is my default e-mail program.
I have also made sure that under Internet Options--> Application, it
says that Outlook is my mail program.

Anything else I can do?

3.Clicking on a mailto link generates 'can't create the item' error

Have a user running Outlook XP.

When they click a mailto: link within a website (any website) Outlook
throws the error "can't create the item".

This is a brand new installation of Office XP (workstation recently been
rebuilt), that has been updated via Office Update.

Can't find anything on this error anywhere.

Would appreciate any assistance anyone can throw at me. This one has me
pulling my hair out.

5.Outlook Express launches when clicking mailto: link

Outlook 2003 is my default email reader. (WinXP Pro). When I click a
mailto: link, it lauches Outlook Express (and immediately says "Outlook
Express is not your default email reader, etc)

I have checked Internet Options - Programs. (as a matter of fact, if I
change it to Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo Mail! becomes my default. When I change it
back to Outlook, this bug continues.)

I have checked Add-Remove Programs - Set Program Access and Defaults -
Custom. It's set as "Use my current e-mail program" and I have unchecked
"Enable Access to this program"

The only thing I have not done is uninstall Outlook Express all together.

Any ideas? Tips? Thanks!!!!!!!
