Hi, I have a similar problem which started after installation of the January security update for Outlook - KB 924085. My workaround is to uninstall that update and hope that enough people will notice and complain so that Microsoft can sort it. Not a satisfactory position at all as my computer keeps trying to install this 'critical' update. There are a couple of threads now appearing in the forum relating to this issue, but no solutions as yet.

4.Outlook 2003 stopped receiving yahoo POP3 mail
I have been using Office 2003 on my laptop since June 2005. I had set up my Outlook to receive my yahoo email. Everything has been working fine until Friday! Now I am receiving this error message: Task 'Yahoo Mail - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' I have disabled my Norton Anti-Virus program but did not correct the problem. I have tried creating a new email profile. That did not work either. I have worked with my ISP and they couldn't fix the problem. They said that Outlook was corrupted and I needed to uninstall and reinstall it. But then I would lose all my data. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
