I made my stationary as a jpeg and inserted it in the mail format area. It repeats over and over in my emails. Repeats to the right and repeats to the bottom. I tried to save my jpe with a bigger background of white, but that didn't work. Any ideas?
  • 2. Context Send not Working
I am using Outlook 2003, and the context send doesn't seem to work. If I choose a document from Explorer and use the right click "Send To" to send the attachment to someone, the mail is created, but the "Send" button has no effect. The message is not sent or queued. The same result happens when Outlook is open or closed prior to executing the "Send To" option. Thoughts?
  • 3. How do I get my e-mail address to show in the "From" line?
I want the From line when a person receives an e-mail from me to have my e-mail address in it after my name. Right now it only shows my name in the "From" line.
  • 4. Calendar popup details
There is a setting under Options|Calendar Options|Planner Options to enable calendar details popups in the planner when scheduling (or reviewing) meetings. I have one user where, although this is enabled, the popups aren't popping. She has full access to all of the calendars that are included in the appointment and can access the calendars and appts directly to see all details, but it won't show it in planner view. Any ideas? Thanks Jerry

Does Outlook2003 support MSDE or MSSQL database?

I am using Outlook200o now, and thinking of upgrading to Outlook2003. I have
lots of emails and my PST file(s) are huge - many GBs. So, I wonder whether
the latest version of Outlook supports MSDE or MSSQL, so that I can get all
the data into a more stable database? Appreciate guidnace.

SSK.

Hi,

Try - Email2DB - http://www.**--****.com/

This app can be used to copy emails to databases - you can extract
individual fields - or copy the whole message body.

Many Thanks
Steve

The new Unicode .pst file format in Outlook 2003 is designed to be much more reliable than the old format and supports 20GB .pst files out of the box and up to 34TB if you tweak the registry to allow a higher maximum.

1.MSSQL database cannot be loaded

Hi,

I accidently removed the MSDE and found my BCM without database. Now I
reinstalled BCM from the MS download area. There's a problem with the
database link somehow.

"Business Contact Manager is already enabled on this computer. To use this
feature, you must restart OUtlook."
"Business Contact Manager for Outlook database cannot be loaded.
The action cannot be completed because Business Contact Manager cannot
access the database. The database is currently stopped.
Do you want to change the database configuration?"
yes!
"Business Contact Manager for Outlook could not find the database you are
looking for."

The following service doesn't start...
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ\Binn\sqlservr.exe" -sMICROSOFTSMLBIZ
I have two instances under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\
there's MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ and there is MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM
The last one is the result of the new installation, in the first tree,
there's not a lot left, only a log file of the original (now gone)
installation. The new installation has a binn directory.

Is there a graceful way to recover from this situation? I have some
accounts/contacts in the old databas (I have the database files copied to a
safe place).

Suggestions are very much welcom.
Thanks,
Ivo

2.CRM Outlook Client Install Failure on MS SQL Server MSDE database

While installing CRM Outlook Client for laptop on a user's laptop I got the
following error with the CRM System Requirements checklist and I can not
contiue the installation.

Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) database

Select Details shows:
Microsoft CRM Environment Diagnostics Wizards
The 'SQLOLEDB provider is not registered on the local machine.
     No error information available: REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG(0x80041054).

Does anyone have a solution?

3.How do I backup the Busness Contact Manager MSDE Database

Is there a way to add the business contact manager database to SQL Server
Enterprise manager so I can back it up?

4.Relocate BCM database to MSDE on SBS

I want to migrate a BCM database to a new MSDE instance on SBS 2003.
I've created the instance, copied and attached the database files and
also configured TCP/IP and named pipes network connections for this
instance, setting the TCP port to 56183.

I can successfully connect to the database using "osql -E -S
<computername>\microsoftsmlbiz" from a client, but when I try to
connect to the database from the "business tools" menu in Outlook, I
keep getting "No Business Contact Manager for Outlook database could be
found on computer [server]".

Is this a supported configuration? Are there any docs on this this? If
not, any suggstions on how I start troubleshooting? Neither the BCM and
SQL logs reveal anything useful.

5.doing labels from outlook, getting database engine failure

The first thing to try is to start from Outlook, i.e.
 a. open your Outlook contacts list and make any selections you want
 b. click Outlook Tools|Mail merge...
 c. study the options in the dialog box that pops up, then make your choices
and proceed

That doesn't always solve the problems but if it does, it's usually a much
better way to merge from Outlook.

If you still get similar problems, perhaps you could follow the recent
conversion in this group about a very similar subject (it's titled "Word
crashes when I try to mail merge using Outlook recipients"), try the
suggestions in there, and post back (preferably whether or not you succeed).
