Hi Seb, I have solved my problem and perhaos this will help you with yours! My error message which was something to the effect of "Operation timed out waiting for response from SMTP server". My solution was to turn off scanning of outgoing (note - only outgoing) mail by my antivirus system and that has solved the problem completely. I am using Trend PC-cillin Internet Security 14. Hope this helps. Karl, as to your problem - sorry I can't even begin to help, I am a complete novice myself! I would suggest however that you do a "new" post as your problem may be missed because it is not the same as Seb's and mine. Hi,
Anyone know what the minimum/recommended bandwidth requirements are for an
Outlook 2003 client connecting to an Exchange 2003 SP2 server?
Thanks,
Mark

Hello

Do we have any documents, which states the bandwidth usage/requirements for:

1) Outlook 2007 client with Exchange 2007
2) OWA 2007 with Exchange 2007

Trying to see if a 1400 mailboxes will work over a 10mb link, with outlook
clients (outlook 2007)

Need to do a proof of concept. Just like how Microsoft has consolidated
most of its exchange server. Most exchange servers in MS are in US, while
its users are all over the world.

Any input would be appeciated.

Thanks

4.Outlook MAPI bandwidth requirements

Hello,

I have been searching the internet for some form of documentation that lists
the bandwidth requirements for a MAPI client connection to work to an
Exchange server. Reason being is that i have a client who has a 128 Kbps
connection to the head office, and are having Outlook/Exchange timeout
problems. My first thought is to move them onto cached mode in outlook
2003, however if there is a technical whitepaper detailing the average
bandwidth for clients, i would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.
