  • 1. Outlook Express Spellchecker Problem
I had installed Microsoft Office 07 Home/Student (I think that was the version) onto my dad's computer and it caused Microsoft Outlook Express's spellchecker dictionary file to become French. I spoke to the Tech support of where he purchased the computer from & apparently it's a known error! They gave me a website address to get a download from to correct the problem Anyway what I'd like to know is where can I find the spellchecker file on my own computer, so I can copy it onto a disk before I install my own version of MS Office 07. Then re-install the file back afterwards to see if that also works! Thanks.
  • 2. RSS-Feeds lost in Outlook 2007
In Outlook 2007 there seems to be a big problem with the consistency of the RSS-Feed configuration. I have defined about 10 Feeds, and it works for about 1 or two days, and then no more updates are received from some feeds. They are listet correct on the feed configuration. After restarting Outlook 2007 the configuration of some feeds disapears in the configuration. The only way is to reimport the Feeds from Internet Explorer or a seperate OPML file. This results either in duplicated folders or a new pst file will be added as RSS repository. Its really awfull to configure allmost each morning all feeds again, reasign the original folders, delete all obsolete (duplicated) items. In advance, the RSS-Tool seems to work only locally, so roaming profiles are not supported. This is not tested, but the files for the RSS-State is stored under the "local" profile, and only on the machine available on which it was created. I'm working with Windows Vista x64 and connecting to an Exchange 2003 Server. Hopefully this issue will be solved soon. Otherwise i can't use the tool. Regards Severin
  • 3. Cannot create items in Outlook 2003 Calendar
I have a user who cannot edit any of his existing calendar items and cannot create new ones. When you try and do anything with it, it simply does nothing. Click New Appointment - nothing. Double Click existing item - Nothing. He doesn't have any PDA's attached to his machine, and ActiveSync isn't installed. The system is running on Windows XP which is fully patched up and using an Exchange 2003 server. On top of this he is the only user in the entire comany having this problem, and other users can access his calendar and add things in. I am desparate for help, and yes before you ask, i've rebooted. I'm not that daft. Would really appreciate some help on this, as it's proving to be very difficult to fix.

Hi all, We currently have trouble with the Outlook 2003 Message recall feature. We are using Outlook 2003/Exchange 2003 both with SP2. Whenever a message will be recalled and replaced with a new message, the orig. sender receives a "Message Recall Failure:" message. I doesn't matter if the recipient first clicks the original message or the corrected message. When he clicks the Recall message, a warning message is showed and the orig. sender receives a "Message Recall Failure:" message. Any help is appreaciated. Krgds Pluto

Outlook 2003 stopped receiving yahoo POP3 mail

Postby RGViYmll » Wed, 04 Jan 2006 10:38:04 GMT

I have been using Office 2003 on my laptop since June 2005. I had set up my
Outlook to receive my yahoo email. Everything has been working fine until
Friday! Now I am receiving this error message:

Task 'Yahoo Mail - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation
timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you
continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'

I have disabled my Norton Anti-Virus program but did not correct the
problem. I have tried creating a new email profile. That did not work either.
I have worked with my ISP and they couldn't fix the problem. They said that
Outlook was corrupted and I needed to uninstall and reinstall it. But then I
would lose all my data.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Debbie

The isp is full of {*filter*}- reinstalls rarely fix anything detect and repair
can't... so try detect and repair on the Help menu.

To verify - you have a paid yahoo account that supports POP3? Can you
connect to the account using OE?

Outlook 2003 stopped receiving Yahoo POP3 mail

Postby RGViYmll » Wed, 04 Jan 2006 13:15:01 GMT

Please forgive me if this is the second time you have read this. I posted a
question at approx. 5 PM PST and I still don't see it on the board so I am
asking again.

I have been using Outlook 2003 on my laptop since June 2005 without
incident. On Friday afternoon it stopped receiving email from my yahoo pop3
account. I receive the following message:
-------------
'Yahoo Mail - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed
out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'
--------------
I have done the following:

- Created new email profile
- Disabled Norton Anti-Virus
- Contacted ISP
- Rebooted Wireless Router

The ISP said that Outlook was corrupted and I needed to uninstall and
restall Outlook. Before I do that does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Debbie

i Diane:

Thank you for your response. Yes I have a paid DSL SBC Yahoo account
that supports POP3. I have been running Outlook successfully for 6
months, until Friday.

I just went into OE and set it up. I received the following errors:
--------
A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account:
'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

The host 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com' could not be found. Please verify
that you have entered the server name correctly. Account:
'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
-------

This same problem happened on my desktop computer and I wasn't able to
fix it. I didn't uninstall and reinstall. I had Geek Squad come out and
the tech told me that my 1.5 year old hard drive was failing. He said
that was my problem. I have bought the new drive but haven't put it in
yet.

I find it very suspicious that the same exact problem is happening on
two different computers.

Next Step: I will go to the help menu and try fix and repair.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help,
Debbie

Open a command line window and enter

ping pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

to see if you get a response. If it was working fine until Friday, then I'd
suspect a server error

Without more evidence of a drive failure, I think the Gook Squad is feeding
you a line to get you to shop at Best Buy. Have you run CHKDSK on the
"failing" drive?

Yea, me too. That's why I think it's a server problem. If the PING works,
write back and we can try some other diagnostics. If the PING doesn't work,
then the server (or your PC's networking) has a problem.
