Does anybody know a. Why my outlook folders are automatically re-directing to my homepage? and b. How on earth I can re-set my inbox to view files in the inbox folders instead of my homepage. I don't recall changing any value recently and I have tried setting the homepage linked to the favourites folders. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Regards, Doug.

Hi genius, Im writting you because Im dealing with the following issue: when using Outlook 2002, it suddenly crashes and I get this error message: "Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close". ModName is ntdll.dll. Outlook closes with no apparently reason, it could be when I try to open an email, composing, etc, even when Outlook window is minimized and Im not working with Outlook! Detect and Repair showed no result. Deleting and creating Outlook profile for user was not a solution. Reinstalling Windows XP and Office 2002 did not solve the problem. Working offline (ost) or connected showed no difference, it will always crash. Difficult to believe that it is an Exchange related problem, because it only happens with one from 350 users. Office is updated with SP3. Do you have any ideas? Please, ask me any other information you need. Thanks in advance!

Outlook Express - Cannot Send POP3 Emails (& Cannot Receive Yahoo

Postby Um94aWVoYW0 » Thu, 28 May 2009 10:23:01 GMT

I have setup to receive my gmail, live, and yahoo emails in Outlook Express
2007. I have successfully received the gmail and live emails, but I have not
received any yahoo emails.

Furthermore, I am not able to send any emails from any of the email accounts
and they messages are all sitting in the outbox (unsent). With the Yahoo
account, I receive the following error message:

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was
rejected. Account: 'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server:
'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [SYS/PERM]
pop not allowed for user.', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error:
0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

What could be the problem? Please let me know if there is something else to
try or double check to ensure that I have setup the accounts properly.

Please clarify: you either have Outlook Express, or Outlook 2007 - which?

Free Yahoo accounts cannot be accessed via POP. If this is a free account,
that's the explanation. However, if you're using the plus server, then
perhaps you have a Yahoo Plus account. If so, contact Yahoo and have them
help you solve the problem, since you pay them for the Plus account.

Thanks Brian, you have cleared up the matter for me as I do not have a
Yahoo Plus account (it's a free account). When I read the
instructions for setting up POP for Yahoo, it provided instructions
for the Plus account. Thus, the reason that I have encountered the
error. I will setup POP again for a free account.

Now, as for the gmail and live accounts, I am still not able to send
emails from Outlook Express as the emails are sitting in the Outbox.
What could be the problem? Any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.

Yahoo does not allow POP access for free accounts. You can, however, try
this:

How did you configure the gmail and Live accounts. Post details.

Iam using Outlook Express V6 in MS ME and tried to send an

3.Cannot retrieve my Outlook/Outlook Express messages from my Yahoo email account

Are you trying to retrieve new messages only? That would be one reason
you're getting the error message since the LAST command has been removed
from POP3 protocol (RFC1939). See RFC1725.

Might search Google for other help.

4.Outlook Express cannot send/receive emails

Dear All,

I would like to ask Outlook Express experts out there about a certain
problem I am having with my Outlook Express.

1) I am using Windows 2000 pro + Win XP

2) I am using Outlook Express for my email client

I have a particular problem where my outlook express will suddently not be
able to receive or send emails. It will complain some unknown socket error.

To solve this problem, I will delete the inbox.dbx and launch outlook
express to let it re create a new inbox.dbx file. This seems to solve this
problem.

1 thing I noticed is that the inbox.dbx is always about 2gig in size. Could
this be the problem? Does the inbox.dbx file grow until a certain size where
this problem will occur?

Can this problem be recreated at will by someone naughty? If it can be
recreated, can some one please give me the steps I should take to re create
this exact problem? Or is this some random problem?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Leo
