Hi, I have two computers that have over a thousand emails on each (outlook 2003). I would like a copy of everything on each one to be synchronized with the other. I have got some syncing software that I am sure will be great but in the meantime I need to clear both Outlook's of their emails. The only problem is that I would like to be able to view the old emails easily if I want to look back at them for any reason. Is there an easy way of archiving emails on both computers that can be easily viewed again without re-installing them all back into their outlook folders?

Hi, I have a user that when she chooses to archive her emails to a local .pst, the archive feature doesn't work. I checked her settings and she does have emails that would fall into the archiving threshold. In the bottom right of Outlook there is the message "archiving email" but no emails fall into her pst. I saw a KB article saying that the archiving feature is unavailable if the users mailbox is over the limit. However, this does not apply. Any ideas on what it can be? Thanks, TKE402

How do I change default search from name to company @create new em

Postby Q2hyaXMgR2V0eg » Sun, 04 Jan 2009 00:20:09 GMT

If I am in my Inbox and need to create a message to multiple contacts (that I
know by company not by a sales rep name), the TO field links to the address
book and only supports a search by contact name. How do I set the default
address search to find a company rather than the contact name?
My current work arround is to select companies in the contacts and do a
create message. This is very cumbersome as they are often specific companies
rather than categories based on scope of work. I avoid DLs as they are just
about useless in their current design.

1.change the default company name used in file properies

I entered my name and company name when I registered Office. These are
hidden somewhere are are used to complete the Author and Company fields in
the file properties. Now my company has changed their name and I want to
change the default value. Where do I do this?

2.Change "file as" fields from default "first name" to company

I used a microsoft suggested method of correcting a problem that involved fax
numbers being intermixed with e-mail addresses in the address book. When I
imported the corrected contacts file back into outlook contacts, all of the
"file as" fields reverted to the first name of the contact rather than the
company name which I had set up when I originally entered the contacts. Is
there any way to change all of these (500 contacts) without opening each
contact and manually changing each one?

3.auto-populating the company name field when creating a new contact

I've been manually creating several new contacts all from the same company
and it's a bit tedious. Is there a way to use/create a drop down menu box to
help populate some of the various fields such as the Company name field or
others?

I've been copying/pasting the company name from a newly made contact to the
nxt new one I'm making.
Thanks-

4.auto-populating the company name field when creating a new con

That option on the Action menu is greyed out.

5.2003: New Contact: Change default File As to: Company (First Last)

Happy Friday everyone.

I need to find a way to add or change the File As options when creating a
new contact in Outlook 2003. The end result I'm looking for is: Company
(FirstName LastName). I know outlook will do this in reverse: Company
(LastName FirstName) but this is not what I'm looking for.

I've spent hours searching with Google, and people have asked this for
years, but I have not seen a single answer out there yet. A few people
recommended buying some German application that assists with Outlook
contacts, but that is not an option as I need this for work.

Anyone have a clue? I am moderately competent with computers, so could
handle customizing Outlook if someone got me pointed in the right direction.

Thanks!
