My old computer died. The funeral is today. The software that came with it includes Officexp Pro. What will happen when I install my old software on a new computer as far as activation goes? Won't it look like I am running the same software on both computers?
  • 5. Vexing problem with PST file and multiple users
Hi everyone! I have a simple question that requires a not-so-simple answer, I think. I have a system with Windows XP Professional and Outlook 2002 that I am trying to configure for someone else. The system has at least two user accounts in XP, but not Outlook. I am trying to configure the system for a husband and wife who are sharing the same e-mail account, but have separate user profiles as far as Windows XP is concerned. The problem is that when one user logs onto XP and grabs e-mail, the other person cannot "see" the e-mail when he/she logs on later. Now, obviously in order for the two mailbox views to be identical for different users, I think I would have to point them to the same PST file location for both users. This runs afoul of the Windows XP file permissions and gets confusing to set up, at least for me. Can someone out there help me and detail the steps involved to do this? What exactly do I need to do to make this work (two Windows XP user profiles reading the same PST file.)? Thank you in advance for your help. Mike

Mail setup program not in control panel

Postby Sm9obkdyZWdvcg » Thu, 10 May 2007 09:15:01 GMT

Hello,

I have a 64 bit windows 2003 terminal server running outlook 2003.

I want to change a user's email configuration. It will not let me change the
settings from users outlook. When I go to the control paner, the "mail"
program is not there. Does anyone know how I can either

1) make the "mail" icon appear,
2) run the mail setup program from the control panel, or
3) find the "mail" executable wherever the heck it is stored and run it.

Thanks,

The mail applet is a 32-bit applet so it is in the "View 32-bit Control
Panel Items" in Control Panel
