  • 2. Accepting time
We have the case where a PM may not be able to accept time and needs another PM to do it for them. I understand the concept of changing managers on a schedule. However, that only seems to work for any new time logged against tasks. What about time logged before the new PM took responsibility? How can that time be processed into the schedule?
  • 3. Change in Managed Periods
Hi : We use managed periods divided into weekly chunks to record time using Project Web access. The period starts from Jan - Dec. Due to some changes we have to change the periods from weekly to semi weekly in middle of year. Any side effects I should be aware of or any bext practices? Will it impact people who have already entered there time in the system or people who pre entered there time. Thanks
  • 4. Updating timesheets
Is there a stored proc or process to update the actual hours on a task by updating the project server database directly or though a seperate application? We have two time logging applications (project server and an internal app) rather than doing dual time entry for one group, I would like to automate the process. Before you ask....we have to keep both timesheet processes...already tried to get rid of one. Thanks, Dave
  • 5. SP2a How quick?
The tech ran SP2a; says it was only a msi file, and that it ran without any completed message. Does that sound right?

JD:

I believe that the issue is installation. Install using SP3a, then update to
SP4. Note: I'm basing this on what others have told me.

I'll add one more comment. There's a known bug with sql SP4 which affects
installations using more than 2gig of RAM.

2.SQL Server - Which SP is best for Project Server

Hi There

I'm having problems publishing tasks to the Project Server, I've read
through numerous threads related to the error message 0x800a0005

One of them suggest that a correct installation of SQL SP1 will do the trick.
The question I have is, must I install SQL SP1, or can I go for a later SP
version of SQL.

Hope you can help
