Hi Guys Me Again! GRRRRRR! WHY WONT ZONE ALARM WORK! To me ZONE ALARM is one of the best firewalls around, when it works. I am trying to install it on a WIN98SE Desktop and it says TITLE "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\GLB3325.TMP" "VALIDATION REQUIRED FOR C:\WINDOWS\VSINIT.DLL YOU ARE PROBABLY MISSING YOU ARE PROBABLY MISSING A NESSECARY ROOT CERTIFICATE" Please can somebody tell me WHY it wonk work and hopefully how to fix it :)Please, any comments appreciated and btw i am using zone alarm FREE. Accidentally I changed my Workgroup name. And when I reboot my PC I have just USERID and PASSWORD fields to type in ( I used to have 3 of them: USERID, PASSWORD, DOMAIN before) So, I can't get in. Any help would be appreciated. - 3. Netgear FA311 NIC installation problems with XP
Anyone, I've recently installed a Netgear FA311 network interface card on my PC. However, when windows xp boots up, it tries to recognise the card, but driver installation fails. It recognises the type of device and model number via the the window bubble that pops up at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. However, when I have a look at the device manager, all that is listed is "Ethernet Controller" with a yellow exclaimation mark. When I right click and view Properties, the device status says "This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1). To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." When I click the Driver tab in properties, it shows that there is no driver installed. I have tried to get a driver from the netgear web site for windows xp, but there is none. The website states that the driver should be located on the windows xp cd. But I tried intalling the driver manually from the CD and there is no driver to be found. This problem is believed to be caused by "something" removing the root certificates that ZA needs. Possibly a virus or similar. This page appears to have the solution. http://www.**--****.com/ but I've not tried it..
