3.Two versions of Office on the same computer...
Hello, I am running Vista and am having problems with Word. It opens but I do not get a cursor. I had Office 2007 Basic, which came pre-installed on my computer. Needing Powerpoint, which Office Basic does not have, I also purchased and installed Office Home and Student edition. I also installed a another product that I use to create PDF files. This was working for a while, then I ran into problems with it and had to uninstall/re-install. When uninstalling my PDF creator software, Word threw up an error message saying "Word has encountered a problem". Since then Word will open but I can never get a cursor, I can't type anything. I do know that the pdf software does install/remove an add-in to Word. But now, even with the pdf creator software removed, Word still doesn't work. Is it OK to have both version of Office installed? Can they work side- by-side? Thanks for any info! Geekgrrl.
4.how to install 2008 version bypassing old version of word on new computer
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Hello,

I bought a new iMac recently along with Word for Mac 2008 upgrade. The word software stated that an older version must pre-exisit on the computer for the new version to be install. My older versions are 'Word 2004 upgrade', 'Word X upgrade' then finally 'Word 2001'. Do I need to install all the old softwares in sequential order so I can install the Mac 2008 upgrade (and then delete the older versions later)? Incidentally, my 'Word X upgrade' and 'Word 2001' are registered with Microsoft, but 'Word 2004' upgrade is purchased right before my previous Mac died so I did not get a chance to register Word 2004 upgrade.

Thanks for any input or advice,

George
