  • 1. Word "Macro" Bugs
Any input on the following "macro" mysteries would be greatly appreciated! Our company's best "Word" gurus could not solve the remaining "bugs." I am using Word '97 with Windows '95, but another employee with Word '02 and Windows 2000 had the same bugs. THANKS!!! A Word ('97) document has a "macro" for a "Risk Rating" Number of One thru Five (latter choices in "drop-down" field). Upon opening the file and changing the Risk Rating Number the first time, the macro automatically triggers changes in the immediately following concluding sentence and the "Recommended Action" check box to the right. Then, if you made a mistake or change your mind regarding the Risk Rating Number and change it a second or multiple times, the "auto" trigger does not always work to effect the changes of the corresponding concluding sentence and recommended action check box. You can manually trigger the changes by hitting the "Tab" key, but this could result in some inadvertent input if the operator is not careful. Secondly, another bug, is that sometimes multiple changes of the Risk Rating Number and manual hitting of the "Tab" key to effect the macro changes results in the Risk Rating Number field totally disappearing.
  • 2. Opening a New Document and using Templates
Hello, When I try to create a new document by going to the "New Office Document" button in the "Start Menu" I get the standard window offering options for templates. Now, when I select different templates they do not always work. Some of the more common ones come up and work fine. Others, either do not open at all or take several minutes to come up.....by then I have moved on to something else when it comes up. I have run the "repair office" a few times and made sure all the templates I am choosing are installed as "run from my computer." This has become very annoying and I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue. Thank you.

1.Run-time error 13 - Type mismatch

I get the run-time error everytime I close a document in
Word 2002, otherwise everything works fine. I saw the
responses to others that have similar problems and tried
the "fixes". I have disabled the Norton office plug-in,
use Acrobat 5.0.5 and run Winfax 5.1 so they don't seem
to be the problem as Suzanne Barnhill kindly suggested (1-

4.run-time error 13 - Type mismatch (don't know why)

Hi,

What worked six months ago seems to give a runtime error now.
Revisting a VBA routine as the project has come out of moth balls.

error 13 - type mismatch on the line:

Set bmrange = destdoc11.Bookmarks("section11").Range ' locate the bookmark

In the snippet of the whole routine,

If Dir(strAtt) = "" Then
MsgBox "File does not exist"
Else
Set srcDoc = Wordapp.Documents.Open(strAtt) 'attachment sheet
End If

'open the letter
Set destdoc11 = Wordapp.Documents.Open(strInputFileName) 'letter

Set bmrange = destdoc11.Bookmarks("section11").Range ' locate the bookmark

'create new section - add a page past the bookmark
destdoc11.Bookmarks("section11").Range.InsertBreak
Type:=wdSectionBreakNextPage

're-insert the bookmark as we have removed it by the section break
destdoc11.Bookmarks.Add "section11", bmrange
'copy the text and replace the bookmark
bmrange.FormattedText = srcDoc.Range.FormattedText
destdoc11.close (wdSaveChanges)

'close the Attachment sheet
srcDoc.close (wdDoNotSaveChanges)

I retraced my steps revisted posts from April and use of bookmarks on the
FAQ word site and I can't see what could cause this glitch.
Corrupt VBA or the bookmarks in the original letter?

Any ideas appreciated.

Regards
bill

5.Runtime error 13 Type Mismatch

Hello

Each time I shut down my Word 2000 I get this message:

Runtime error 13 Type Mismatch

I press OK and the program shuts down just fine. All
features appear to work (Unless I just have not used the
part that does not work)
