When i use word 2002, the program and the computer itself freezes up. I've noticed that this happens while the page is scrolling, because there will sometimes be colored vertical lines all across the page. -- R.B.

Hi, Is there a fix available in word if anytime I start up the program, a popup box appears before doing anything that says, "Microsoft Visual Basic - compile error in hidden module: AutoExec - Okay/Help". When I press Okay, the box diappears and the program appears to work fine. I have Microsoft Works 2003 ed. on a Dell Pent4 using Windows XP. Any help would be appreciated. - 2. Why when I email a Word file with a Table of Contents as a file attachment, does it change all the page numbers to one page number. This does not happen every time, but quite often. If I open up Microsoft Word(new blank document) there appears the letter i, which I cannot delete. Since I use word for my outlook, they also appear in emails. Everything else appears normal. Error message pops up (Std.ini corrupted or missing, std.dot not fully installed) when trying to ope a particular document from Japan on a XP machine. I have reinstalled word and install extra language packs too. Does anyone have a ideas, thanks in advance for you time. Diane

I tried Detect and Repair, but it didn't work. Also, I
tried unistall and re-install...same thing. How can I start WORD in safe
mode? Would Macros have anything to do with it freezing up like it does?

I've tried various remedies to fix the problem, such as re-naming the normal.dot file, detect and repair, safe mode (for word) and uninstall-reinstall. Word crashes at various times as I use it...sometimes a few minutes after I start it up, or maybe an hour later. It's hard to predict when it will happen. But, I have noticed that it doesn't freeze when I'm cutting and pasting images onto a document. It doesn't matter if I have internet connection or not, it still freezes. If anyone has any ideas, please drop me a line. Next, I'm going to turn off my computer services one-by-one, and see if I can diagnose the problem that way. 2.Word XP has quit responding and won't open files
I have been using All Office XP products for quite some time. Last night, when I tried to open files in any of the applications, I was unable to do so. I would double click on the file and nothing would happen. After a while I get the message "Word (or Excel, etc.) is not responding". Any suggestions?

While editing a Word 2002 document, I may have changed a setting by accident. The keyboard has quit responding. It is a micro innovations wireless, and the low battery light doesn't indicate battery problems. It seems to be communicating with the pc, because when I press any key, there is a soft beep from the pc, but no other response. Can anyone help? Thanks, Caroline
5.Microsoft Word 2002 (XP Small Business Edition) quits after 15 sec
The explanation page says the problem is with the file hpzntp04.dll. Uninstalling and reinsattling Microsoft Office XP Small Business Edition and its three service packages does not solve this problem. The file is not on this Dell notebook. Help from Q289634 does not solve this problem. Do you know if this file comes from an Office or Windows "cab" file and which one? If so, in what folder is it supposed to be installed. Also, it affects Publisher and seems to be affecting WordPad and Notepad, too. Thank you.
