  • 1. How to unconvert a document?
    I was editing a .rtf document in Word and the program began an conversion installation automatically. All the document changed to squares characters. All the documents saved in the pendrive changed too even if I didn't edit them. I tried to open the documents in another computer but the problem persists. I think if was the conversion, but I don't know what kind of conversion Word made. If you can help me, I will very appreciated.

    Hello, my system: MS Word 2003 my question is about text-variable in serial letter: in my data source the field has RTF formatted text as content. in the serial letter the field includes the full RTF stream and not the RTF formatted text. I want that the content is included as RTF formatted text, how can I do this? is it possible or not? thanks and best regards Karin
  • 3. Toolbar defaults for a blank document
    how do i set my toolbar to have Standard and Formatting only. It seems that after i open a document that i receive from a colleague, whenever i start a new document ('Documentxx') i start off with whatever toolbars they had set..either that, or i have some default somewhere that has Formatting and Reviewing and i don't know how to change it.. thus, i joined this group to find out how. any help is appreciated..

Thank you all for your prompt replies.  That has given me plenty to go by!  
Keep your eye on the engineering world in the years to come and you might see 
me in action (with some great computer notes to thank!)

Hi, 

I've gone through the steps via add/remove programs and it starts to install 
but then a box appears telling me I need to insert the "Microsoft Office XP 
Professional CD-ROM".  Problem is my computer came with MS Office installed 
so I have no such CD-ROM.

I'm studying engineering at university and really need an equation editor to 
write my notes. Can anyone help me?

4.Equation Editor not installing 

I am trying to use the equation editor, it is not listed under "insert","object" and I followed the help instructions to add it and I closed word and reopened. It still isn't there!!!

5.Equation Editor not installed?? 

I have windows XP with Microsoft Office Pro version from the university I 
attend.  I can't find Equation Editor.  Has been going on for weeks.  Dell 
support spent 6 hours and couldn't get it to come in Word or anywhere.  It 
shows in the Office tools in the control panel add/remove programs but on 
updating again it is not there.  I am going to flunk math, can't turn in 
assignments and spending hours looking for this.  Dell sold me with Windows 
XP edition with computer and I also bought from them the Student/teacher 
office 2003 and had to download it from a disc.  I have installed and 
reinstalled via Dell support with rep controlling cursor, always the same I 
don't think it's installed, call Microsoft, then Microsoft isn't any help as 
won't help without a fee.  So removed the student teacher version and 
installed the free upgrade from the univeristy and no different.  Please 
help, I have no clue on this nor does the support at Dell.  I have to turn in 
my math homework, please.
