  • 1. help I'm being left behind with my font problem
Oh illustrious microsoft helpers readers and other computer folk How's that for a bit of grovelling. Nobody has answered my question and I am desperate for an answer: When I highlight a piece of text and then look to change the font through the path: format>font, the preview panel just says "sample" and not a piece of the highlighted text, I'm sure this used to give part of the highlight as a sample, as I am trying to find a particular number font, "sample" does not help a great deal. What's happened and how can I preview the numbers in the various font. Oh where are you susan when I need you Many many thanks in advnace -- Eats, roots and leaves.

  • 4. Printing labels on an Epson LQ-580 through word 2003
Here is one that is making my head hurt... I'm trying to print labels on continuous feed through an Epson LQ-580 dot matrix printer... (long story) I use Word 2003... When I printer 2 labels, it will print the first, then skip 2 then print the second... The skip looks equivalent to A4... The labels are not a standard (Avery) size... Now the printer driver for the LQ-580 does not allow for a Custom paper size to be printed and all the standard sizes used by it don't come close to this label size... And in Word I've (as far as I know) made all the settings I can find changed to the label size... Can anyone suggest anything, before I go batty???

Need help working with a Journal template.

Postby RGF2ZQ » Sun, 14 Feb 2010 02:19:01 GMT

How do I make my text fit the template? To be more specific, this is a
2-column Journal template in landscape orientation, with lined rows, similar
to a typical diary page. When I type my text and reach the end of a line,
instead of the text moving to the next lined row, it moves the the line down
as I continue to type - putting all the text in a single line or cell, if you
will. How do I lock in the template, so my text will follow the lined rows?

You don't. The template you have downloaded was intended to be printed out
and filled in by hand.

1.how do you make journal entries into a journal template

I am using a flower template that I downloaded from Word to make journal
entries.
The template has lines on it, but when you type your entries into the
template, the words do not wrap to the lines. The lines just expand to fit
the paragraph., which is ok, but then the lines move down into the flower
border. How do you make your entries so that the words wrap onto the lines of
the template and the lines stay within the flower border?

2.Need help creating a template for work with a locked indentations

I really need help with this. My work currently has some templates with a
numbering system that was defined by the person who worked before me. The
format is like the following...

1. Purpose
    1.1
          1.1.1

2. Scope/Application
    2.1
          2.1.1

And so forth. For some reason when other users type their information into
the template, every now and then I'll find the indentations are skewered.
For example

1. Purpose
                1.1
                  1.1.1

2. Scope/Application
                2.1
                   2.1.1

This ends up being completely different from how the template was intended,
and I can't figure out what users are doing in the first place to screw it
up. When I try to edit their documents, I have to do a copy format/paste all
throughout the document to get it to look like normal again, but I can't seem
to easily put it back how it was supposed to be in the first place. Even
when I go into Styles/Formatting and try to REDEFINE the indentations, that
doesn't seem to work so well either.

I need to know if there's a way to LOCK the indentation of the numbering
schematic so that users do not do something to inadvertantly screw up all the
line ups through the rest of their document. Ultimately it looks like the
default ends up being changed somehow, and it's something that almost
EVERYONE who writes a document on this template seems to make happen except
for me, and I can't figure out why.

I'd just assume fix it so that they can't mess it up in the first place, but
if there's a different/better solution, please let me know. If you need more
information, please let me know that as well.

Thanks,
Doug

3.Need help creating a template for work with a locked indentati

Thanks for the advice Idaho Word Man.

I went ahead and followed those instructions which helped me at least set
the default for the document I was having problems with. However, I'm not
quite sure how to be utilizing the template feature.

Perhaps it all comes down to how the original person setup the template,
since the document wasn't saved as a .dot file but rather a .doc file.

We have our template (which again, is a .doc file) stored on a central
document management system, similar to storing the document on a server drive
accessable by all computers. The users can then download and save the
template to their hard drive for use in writing their documents.

Somehow, along the way, many users end up forcing the tabs out of whack. So
I'm thinking that your suggestion of selecting "Add to Template" might help
if we save it as a .dot file? I'm wondering if even then it would prevent
these errors from happening.

Thanks,
Doug

How do I configure and/or integrate the Journal in Office 2003? I'd like to
