When I accept a track change in my doc, the vertical line in the left margin
adjacent to the the sentences containing the track change remains even
though the change was accepted. How do i get rid of this line?

Are you sure you have accepted all the changes on the line? Might you have
what Word sees as two changes - a deletion and an insertion - and only have
accepted one of them?

Thanks Tony for your prompt response. I had accepted all changes, and the
vertical line remained in place.

4.Getting rid of tracked changes and comments once and for all

I have followed the insructions given on Microsoft Office Online to "Get rid
of tracked changes and comments, once and for all." I can remove for good
all tracked changes and comments in the main document, but cannot remove
changes in headers and footers, no matter how many times I repeat the
elimination process. Does someone have a fix for this please, or is it a
glitch in the software that Microsoft needs to address?
