I am trying to install Word 2003, however after it installs completely when I try to use it, an error message pops up and I cancel out of it. It then prompts me to re-input my username, etc. and product key. After entering the same same prod. key that I entered to install it, it tells me that it is the wrong product key. I have tried uninstalling it from all of my computers and attempted several times to install it on a single comp. so far without success. Can anyone help me with this problem?? Thanks

Is it possible to have a large document protected (so it cannot be edited), but allow certain pages to still be edited, ie. excluded from the protection. I write Safety Systems for companies, and have had a request to leave the MSDS Register unprotected so it can be edited in the customers office. Thanks, Rob

When I try to show the chnged lines in the border with Track Changes the
lines interfere with the text lines. How do I set the vertical line in the
right border outside of the text lines?

On your Reviewing toolbar, there is Show button. Click the down arrow
for it and select Options.
Your choices for Changed lines are:
None
Left border
Right border
Outside border

Hope this helps

I tried that. It didn't help; the vertical line still runs through the text
lines, even in the "Outside Border" option. Basically, the margin for the
vertical line needs to be set separately from the text lines. Is there a way
to do this?

Is your text outside of the margins? That's the only reason I can think
that the line would run through the text. The lines run outside the
margin. Check the paragraph formatting and if the number for indents is
a negative number, then you will need to adjust to either zero or a
positive number.

Yes, thank you. That was the problem, due to an earlier save of the document
with different margin settings.

1.Change dotted line border around the Text Box to a solid line border

How can I change the border of a Text Box to a solid line
border? I can get to the Text Box shape like this:

Word.Application.ActiveDocument.Shapes.Item
(32).TextFrame.TextRange.FormattedText.Text.ToString

But I can't find the property to change the Text Box
border.

In Word XP, a user would change this manually by
selecting the Text Box; select Format | Text Box; Change
the value of Line Dashed to Solid.

Where is the Office 10.0 Object Library property that
controls this action? ;-)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2.Track Changes Line not showing

Hi,

The track changes line does not appear however it does appear to work when I
delete text.

My track changes settings are as follows:

Insertions: Underline
Deletions: Strikethrough
Formatting: (none)
Changes Lines: Right Border

The colour is set to red- however no line appears when I insert text (it
does when I delete).

Anyone got any ideas...?

Cheers,

Thanks Tony for your prompt response. I had accepted all changes, and the
vertical line remained in place.

5.Track changes so that view does not show tracking but print does

We use Office 2000 soon to upgrade to 03. I am creating Word
Agreement/contract templates. There are fields with unlimited characters
that must be filed in. In each field I have included an instruction (what
info belongs in field). When the user completes Agreement, it must be
printed with changes redlined for ease of review for attorney (so that
changes/additions to original template can easily be seen) so tracking is
turned on. Now when a field is clicked on to fill in information because of
tracking, the field with instruction is redlined and text filled in is in red
following the actual field. Is there anyway to make the fields work normal
(not redline) even with tracking turned on? It would be more user friendly if
the text typed in the field came out red but the field instructions deleted
like they normally do with tracking off. If not, can the user not see the
tracking but when they print, it shows.
