Something is stealing focus - possibilities include speech recognition, accidental contact with the over-sensitive touchpad of a laptop, anti-virus software or whatever else you have running at the time. -- <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://www.**--****.com/ <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<>

2.Need "click and type" function for MS Word 2002
I'm trying to figure out how to have a field in my merge document that you can just click on and type in the current info. We have Word 2002 in the office and everything I see in the on-line help talks about Word 2003. -- me
3.How do I stop Office from repeatedly asking for name and initials
I manage a school network running XP with Office 2007. When users open Word or PowerPoint 2007, it asks for their name and initials like it would the first time they opened it, and the users enter them as usual. But then Office starts asking for them again and again every few seconds, making it impossible to accomplish anything. I have no clue what would be causing this to happen, as we've had this setup for over a year now and it just started happening. Any help would be appreciated.
4.Word 2007 repeatedly stops responding
Why does Word 2007 stop responding when I try to save, print or exit? I've run diagnostics without success. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 to no avail. This does not happen with any other Office 2007 program (e.g. PowerPoint).
5.double-click/triple-click to select stops working
In addition to my cursor sometimes vanishing, double- and triple-clicking on text sometimes stops doing anything. <br><br>When this occurs, i have to quit Word (not just the document) and restart to get it to work again. <br><br>I detect no pattern other than possibly resulting from me switching to other programs and then back to word. <br><br>Between this, the disappearing cursor, and the massive problems with spaces, running Word 2003 on XP under vmware fusion actually feels much more stable (and in some cases, like saving, or repaginating, more responsive) than word 2008. Word 2008 is a massive accomplishment, but so many of the the little interactions I repeat the most with it during the day keep randomly malfunctioning.... <br><br>I am running 10.5.1 on an brand new MBP 2.6/4GB, with several programs running in the background (safari, adium, netnewswire, itunes, mail). I use spaces, and switch spaces and programs a lot. I do a lot of copy and paste between and within programs, and sometimes it seems the switching around triggers the problems.
