The document prints fine but it remains in buffer (?) and nothing else will print. I must cancel print and open up the printer to clear the document and then I can print another document. I called Minota and they said it was MS software problem. Any one else with the same problem?
  • 2. System Slowdown using Word 2003
My entire system slows down (90 to 100% cpu cycles) while in Word 2003. When I bring up the Tools/Options menu it goes back to a smaller percentage 20 -44 if that's any help. My Company recently upgraded from 2000 where I did not experience this. I have tried many setting changes without success. Also I have searched this site for the word "slow" and have not found an answer. I don't have any templates added in and as I said I did not have this problem before. Any suggestions will be appreciated. John
  • 3. How do you see link names
I am using Word 2002 on Windows XP. I have a document with pictures imbedded that are linked to graphics files. Furthermore, not all the pictures are linked. I am making changes and need to be able to click on a picture and see if it is linked, and if so, what the file is. How do I do that? I have been unable to find any way of viewing this information. If you go to Edit Links, it shows the list of linked files in the document, but it doesn't show which actual graphic in the current document those source file names are connected to. I shoudl make clear that these are not hyperlinks, just links to graphics placed ona folder on the disk. David Fox
  • 4. How to hide caption numbers ?
Hello everyone, I have to work with a template containing non-TOC headings, which I finally want to be listed in the TOC. Therefore I introduced captions in front of them. In the TOC I do not want to see the caption labels and numbers, so I use the "\a" switch and that works nicely. In the text (i.e. at the position of the caption) I can get rid of the caption label (using the appropriate check box in the "Insert caption" window), but I cannot figure out how to "hide" the caption number. What I have done for the moment is to set the caption number's font to size 1 pt and white colour, so it's nearly "invisible". I guess there's a more elegant solution to my problem, but I cannot find it in the community archive... Thanks in advance
  • 5. space between the regular text and the footnote separator
My text has to be double space. Nevertheless, I need the footnote separator to be just one space below the regular text. How do I do this? I'm using Office XP home edition. Thanks

Hi Ripples,

If you're in 'Draft' view, try switching to Print Layout view. If you're in Print Layout view check
  Office Button=>Word Options=>Advanced (Alt, T, O, A)
and in 'Show Document content' turn off [x] Show Picture Placeholders.

1.No Image Appears When I Insert A Picture from A Scanner

I'm trying to insert a picture from my scanner into Word. I'm using my
scanner's WIA driver. If I scan in color the image appears in word
fine. However, if I scan in grayscale or black and white, the scanner
scans and there is no error, but the image never appears.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

2.Images in some existing Word documents don't appear.

Running Win2K - Word2K3 fully patched

Since a while now I can't see images anymore in documents
which were generated as WordML (through xslt
transformation). I can't remember when this problem exactly
occurred for the first time and thus heave no idea what
could have caused it.

In the near past these documents have been displayed
succesfully on my machine.

If I open these documents on another machine (same setup)
the images are still visible though.

Thanks for your time.

3.Pictures or Graphs don't appear when I open a Word Document

I use different word templates to create newsletters and flyers. For some
reason with my copy of word my Pictures or Graphics don't always appear when
I open a document. I can see a blank space and outline if I click on it.
Sometimes they'll appear when I do a print preview. They always always print
correctly and like I said can see the outline of where they should go but
just can't see them all the time. Is this a refresh or load time issue??
I'm sure there is a setting somewhere that I haven't found. I'm running a
pentium 1.8 with with 768 ram, windows XP pro, and Office 2003. My computer
isn't slow, b ut I know the same document immediately loads fine on other
machines, so I "assume" it's an office setting somewhere.

Thanks

4.pictures inserted in Word documents don't print?

The pictures I insert into Word documents don't show up in the print preview,
nor do they print. They do show up on the screen, though, and I can crop
them, resize them and even format the text -- wrap, write over, write under,
all that. So while I'm working on the document, it looks like everything's
going great; and then I print out and get only the text.

I'm using Windows XP.
