  • 1. How do I hide the comment reference? (not the comment itself).
I work at a College and I use comments in my handouts for my students. They can get my explanation of a term used in the document by hovering the pointer over the word they don't understand. When I enter a comment I get a reference next to it like this [JS1]. I don't want that reference appearing in the text, just the shaded word so that they know they can get an explanation. Any ideas?

  • 5. ref field length changing on update
I have added a fill in field in my document called "Name". I create a bookmark with this field. I then added a Ref field to bookmark "Name". then I save as a template. when I open doc and fillin prompt, the ref field does not hold formatting, even thought the preserve formatiing box is checked. Part of the Name stays formatted but the rest displays the formatting of the fillin field (both fields have different formatting) How do I get the ref field to hold the formatting I give it?

change button|first page choose add or remove features...] but on the second
page I can't see the "office tool" to expand. (I use microsoft office 2003)

On the second page you'll have to check "Choose advanced customization of
applications," then click Next, then expand Office Tools on the next screen.

3.Installing Equation Editor

I've tried unsuccessfully to install Equation Editor in my Office XP
professional file. I've even unistalled Office and reinstalled it . What's
going on? I'm using Windows XP home edition. Also, I have plenty of disk
space.

4.Unable to install equation editor

I have tried to install the equation editor but every time I do the
install process errors out about half way through. I go through the
process by going into add/remove programs and change the installation
to include the equation editor. After I hit the update button, it
starts to install the equation editor, but than at about 50% it will
come up with an error saying that it is unavailable. I also had the
Office CD in the drive.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a legal OEM copy of Office XP Professional, and need to install
Equation Editor. I do not have the CD, and Dell, from whom I purchased the
computer over two years, will not assist. I do not understand why this
feature was omitted at installation. How can I get this feature without
without buying Office again?
