Is there a way to add rows to a protected form without losing the information that has already been entered? If I unprotect it, add the needed row and then reprotect it all the input data get deleted! Why oh why would MS have decide that protecting a doc means reintialising it? I am perplexed (Doesn't take much some days)? Thank you for your help, Daniel
  • 2. I want to wrap text inside an irregular shaped box in Word
I have drawn an octagon shape covering most of a page and I would like to type inside the box and have the text run from edge to edge.
  • 3. Word files slow to open (sort of)
I have a person with Office 2000. When she tries to open a word file from the open dialog box by clicking the down arrow to change the "look in", the program gets hung up. She showed my and it actually said "not responding" at the top of the box right next to the work "Open". We watched for a few seconds (20-30?) and then the drop down worked. I did a defrag the other day along with an extra virus scan, updated and ran the spyware scan and of course everything worked fine for me. While she is gone this afternoon I will check a couple other things. I will clear out her temp files and delete the normal.dot. It looks like the same thing is happening in excel too. It was slow but didn't say "not responding". If it wasn't for the "not responding", I would just say she was impatient. Any other ideas?
  • 4. How can DOC files be saved as WordPerfect files using 2003 Office?
Some of the recipients of my DOC files, prefer to work in WordPerfect. My recent upgrade to Office 2003 does not readily allow saving files in WordPerfect. How can I add this option?

why does outlook have to be the "default" e-mail program to print and
envelope from Word in Office 2003

AFAIK, it doesn't. But you do need access to the Outlook address book if you
want to insert addresses from it.

It pops up a box that tells me I HAVE to make outlook my default to use that
feature. I have used that feature for years up until yesterday when I thought
I would try 2003 (was using 2000) basically, if I do not open outlook it will
not let me use the address from my address book, I can see them and click on
them but they will not work.

Here is exactly what I get:

"Either there is no default mail client (there is - I use Eudora) or the
current client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft
Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client"

I do not want to have to do this. Looks like I stick with 2000 as it workd
flawlessly and insert addresses from outlook into the box.

Hmm. I'm getting the same message. I used to be able to use Insert | Address
but no longer can. <sigh>

2.Why oh why

Why does this stupid program delete my paragraph numbers when I want to past

3.Why?Why?Why?Why?

Can anyone tell me as to why I have to re-install Word 2002 every week
or so? It will work fine and then for no obvious reason it will present
the message "That it is not installed for the current user and to
re-install it". I am the ONLY frickin' user of this machine.

I have de-installed and re-installed it so many times that I wonder as
to "Why did I ever purchase this piece of crap"?

This pgm came as part of Works Suite 2004.

There must be a registry hack to stabilize this pgm so that I don't have
to re-install the beast.
