I have white borders around my clip art picture and I want it to fill the page. How can I do this? I have altered margins to 0cm. I want my picture as a poster. Thank you.
  • 2. I am getting select the encoding that makes the document readable
I downloaded a document for a computer class to word. When I tried to open it I get the error select the encoding that makes the document readable. I tried all of them and none of them worked. What do I need to do. The document does have a picture on it.

I'm working on a mini-cookbook. Each recipe page has a table from Table - table autoformat. One section of the table has a square to insert a graphic. I googled the graphics for things like lemon meringue pie. For some reason, when I open the document, which has 10 recipes and 10 graphics, the graphic "holders" remain empty for some time as the graphics load. Also, if I hover over a graphic, it has the web address and says "Ctrl + Click" to go to the address where I originally got the graphic. Is there any way to get rid of this property? Also, I started to save the pictures to my desktop as bitmaps, but I'm getting all these files named "Scrap". I've never seen anything like this before. Can you please help?
  • 4. Inserted Graphics are Blacked out
Can someone help me. I have various files created in Word 9.0! When I open them in Word 2007, several of the inserted 'pictures' appear totally black, and also print this way. However, other inserted 'pictures' in the ame document appear normal. To add to my confusion, when opening the exact same files on a machine with office 2000 every thing appears normal. Regards

I'm trying to creat an image with a 'black box' or background, with "white
text" inserted and I cannot get my word 2007 to do this. Please advise!
Thanks!

1. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the arrow beside the
Borders button (its appearance may vary depending on what sort of border was
last applied, but it's the rightmost button the bottom row), and choose
Borders and Shading... at the very bottom of the menu.

2. In the Borders and Shading dialog, choose the Shading tab.

3. Under Fill, choose Black, then click OK.

4. If your font color is set to Automatic, then you will automatically get
white text, or you can explicitly set it to white. For reversed text it's
usually best to use a sans serif font and make it Bold (and not too small).

Note that if you want the box to extend beyond the text, there are two ways
to accomplish this:

1. You can use a table cell of the appropriate dimensions and fill that with
color.

2. You can apply a black border to the paragraph(s) by clicking Box on the
Border tab, which will then allow you to click Options... on the Border tab
and set the "Distance from text" to allow more space around your text.

1.Text Boxes turning solid black with black print

Text boxes in my document change from white background with black type to
black background with black type. You can't see anything in the box except
solid black, even if there is a graphic. If you try to edit anything, you
have to completely retype and then print to see what is there. Printed copy
comes out fine, it's just the box on the monitor screen that is the problem.
What is causing this and can it be fixed?

2.I get a strange black box at the bottom of text boxes

At the bottom of my text boxes in Word I get a black box that fills that last
four lines of the text box. But when I zoom out it starts to shrink so just
past 80% zoom out it disappears, and it grows when I zoom in.
The box does not print, it appears to only be an overlay... but it is on all
work that I do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
