Excel link distorted when updated in word
by Ashley via OfficeKB.com » Sat, 02 Jul 2005 10:33:51 GMT
I have a word document with an excel link. Whenever I open the word document
the link is updated and the excel link (picture) is distorted. When I go to
format object/size and change the image back to the size it originally was,
it just changes and becomes distorted again the next time the link is updated.
There does not seem to be a way to get the size formatting to stick in Word.
I don't understand why this happens, the size is correct in Excel. I have
spent hours on this. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it!
THANK YOU!!!!!

Which of the PasteSpecial options did you use when you pasted the Excel
object into Word?

I pasted the link as a Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object.

I figured it out! You have to download February 29, 2005 hotfix for excel.
There are some other things you have to do after you install the hotfix
(which I had to call microsoft for) but they should explain to you how to do
it.
Thank you anyway!

4.Link between Word and Excel is not updating when Word document ope
I have been using Word and Excel for years. I have Office XP SBE. Until
recently I have been able to link an Excel document with a Word document. If
I opened the Word document after the linked Excel document was changed, the
changes would be reflected in the Word document. If I double clicked on a
link in Word and went into Excel and made changes those changes would be in
Word when I went back to it. For the last couple of months however the links
have not automatically updated. I have checked all my settings and cannot
find anything wrong.
Any ideas?
