Hi, I'm having a heck of a time inserting some custom jpeg files into a word calendar. I have now control over their placement event though I am able to get the 4 direction arrow. I'm guessing something int he cell formatting is kicking it out of position. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? -- Denny

  • 5. eps files into word 2007
Hi, I've a got a lot of graphs done in MATLAB software and exported as .eps files. Now comes my problem. When I insert them into word 2007 and convert it to pdf using a postscript printer, an error occurs... Here is the log of the error: %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% %%[ Warning: Helvetica not found, using Font Substitution. Font cannot be embedded. ]%% %%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: `H0 ]%% %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %% This do not occurs with every figures, but with most of them. I think it is something related with some kind of incompatibility between word 2007 and eps files. Maybe the word 2007's EPS filter is not so up to date as it should be... I concluded it because if I insert the same eps files into word 2003 and print into pdf and all goes fine. Nevertheless, I cannot use word 2003 because I'm using some of the features of word 2007 that are not compatible with the 2003 version. Can you help me with this issue? Thanks in advance.

INSERTING AUTO SHAPES

Postby SnVuZQ » Mon, 26 Apr 2004 02:16:02 GMT

How do I insert an autoshape with getting a box that says create your own around it. We just switched from 7.0 to 9.0. I have been inserting these pics for 6 years on 7.0. But don't understand why I am getting that box. I am trying to insert a Smile face or heart and I know how to fill it. I don't want that box around it just the autoshape. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. This is a new computer and my daughter has the microsoft disc that I use to insert in the old computer. I do get the autoshapes. But it is not letting me get it without the box around it. Thank you for your help.

To turn the box off (it is called a Canvas in the new version)

1. Select Tool
2. Select Option
3. Click on the General Car
4. Click on "Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting Autoshapes

This will remove the box.

1.delete an inserted auto shape that is behind the text

I am creating a form to check boxes next to a list of items and I used auto
shape to create the boxes, I then formatted to have them "behind" the text,
so now I can't click on them to move them or delete them.

2.Inserting Auto Shapes and Page Layout

I have created several files that have auto shapes
(circles with connectors)inserted. However, in one
document, every time I insert an auto shape connector it
changes the view to normal view from print layout view
and I can not see the graphic. What code is in that
document to cause that to happen?

3.How do I stop Word from inserting an auto sized shape/text box

In the old Word I used to be able to click on Text Box, or an Auto Shape, and
then be able to size and place the box wherever I wanted. Now, it
autmatically inserts a presized shape where IT wants to in my document. It's
an extra step for me now, because then I have to either resize the box it
gives me, or delete the box and make my own. It is annoying.

4.insert clip art or graphic into auto shape to fit

I have seen pictures and/or clipart inserted to fit autoshapes. I would like
to know how to do this

5.Auto Brightness, Auto Contrast, Auto Levels

Does anyone know how to set an image's Auto Brightness, Auto Contrast and
Auto Levels...
or what the concepts are to accomplish this assuming I am using an image
component that can set brightness and contrast to a specific value? I guess
the key here is how to get the auto value?
