    I have a graphic I want to insert into a Word 2007 document. The graphic is in .png format. If I print it from a graphics program the resolution is great. It was scanned at 600 dpi. When I insert into Word and print the resolution is terrible. What gives? Thanks,

  • 4. Drawing simple shapes, like lines, has gotten harder in Word 2007
    There is precious little said online about how the new connector "line" and "elbow line" tools are supposed to work, or why they behave in unexpected manners, on a drawing canvas. I have played with them extensively enough to have come to the conclusion that some update to correct their many bugs is in order. The (connector) "line" and "elbow line" tools go haywire trying to connect to things I don't want them to, every time; the elbow line takes all kinds of crooked shapes, shooting off the drawing canvas, ... making you give up trying to use it! When I am lucky enough to fix its shape by dragging the handles on the line segments, the next time I attach another connector anywhere on that canvas, the adjustments I made get completely undone, springing back to the singular way in which Word pleases to route my lines: a crooked way! So now, I am finally resigned to never using connector lines (though it would certainly be helpful if they worked as they're supposed to) and to using only the "freeform" shape tool to draw even the simplest straight line. If anyone knows of a solution to this, like a software-fix update, let me know. Thanks.

I have seen pictures and/or clipart inserted to fit autoshapes. I would like 
to know how to do this

Select the autoshape, on the picture toolbar, click fill, click fill effects, picture 
tab.

1.Turn off "auto fit" in Smart Art Graphics 

I am creating a flow chart that does not fit the "automatic" Smart Art 
layouts. I am able to change shapes, but the "Auto Fit" is driving me nuts. 
I've tried to turn it off in text boxes by selecting shapes, selecting text, 
selecting the who smart art graphics, and the "auto fit" is greyed out and 
set in "on" position.

2.Can words be typed over clips art without inserting a text shape 






3.Inserting image, clip art, and/or shape

Using Office XP Pro.  First I tried every possible menu item, then I
read, then reread, associated help files.

I can't seem to ask the right question so Word can give me a simple
"how to."

Hopefully y'all can redirect me in the correct direction so I can
figure it out myself.

I have a one page flyer.  The first several lines are centered and not
long, so that I have nice clean areas to the left and right at the top
into which I would like to insert something.  I have problems drawing,
so I want to use either a canned image (jpg), clipart, or an
autoshape.

I tried inserting an autoshape (one of the stars).  I was able to get
it positioned and sized, but it would not 'overtype,' rather it
inserted, shoving aside the text.  What I mean is I was unable to get
the shape and the text on the same lines.  The shape extends
vertically for about 3-4 inches, so the best I could do was to put a
star in the upper left, and the text started on the line below the
star.

I'd really rather insert one of Word's cliparts.  I could not get
anywhere on this.  I could not find a simple "how to" when I entered
clip art in the help box.  LOTS of information, but no step by step
instructions.








4.Clip gallery user database failed to open when trying to insert clip art

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have a teacher that gets the message "Clip gallery user database failed to open" every time she tries to insert clip art in Word or PowerPoint. I have already tried to trash the preferences (and empty the trash) for the clip gallery in the user's library and I have tried repairing her permissions. If logged in as another user, the clip gallery works fine.

This is driving me CRAZY and I really need to move on to other support issues. Please help!

I have imported (or pasted) an irregular shaped object 
(clipartinto a word document. I want to add text around 
it so that the text matches the shape and is not in a 
box. How do you do that?
