  • 1. Office Prints Images with Wrong Colour
x-no-archive: yes Hi I've noticed a recent problem with printing from Office. I have a logo image (in jpg format) that I've inserted into Word using Insert, Picture, From File. It looks fine in the document and fine in print preview. When I print the red portion of the logo prints blue. I also have the same image in Excel that also prints blue instead of red. In the same document/spreadsheet I have red text that prints fine - just the image prints blue. I can open the files in OpenOffice and they print in the correct colours so it's definetley Office that's having a problem. I don't know much on Office printing so any tips on where to start troubleshooting would be great. The only thing I've done so far is to run a repair install, delete normal.dot and check it prints ok from another app (openoffice). thanks
  • 2. How to configure Word 2003 to use Quicktime and LZW for pictures?
I received some Word files from a Mac user that contains images, but some of the images will not display. The message "QuickTime and a TIFF (LZW) compressor are needed to see this picture". I have the latest version of QuickTime. I set it to be the default viewer for TIFF format and still nothing.
  • 3. Graphic files do not always display in Word
When I use a Word file that has graphics in it, I usually cannot see them. If I scroll down, there is nothing, but sometimes the file does display after a while. Sometimes, I'll see some indication there is a file there. Sometimes there is nothing but blank space. I've never had this problem before, but I have since getting a new desktop (Sony Vaio) and monitor (NEC). I thought the problem might be with the computer or the monitor, but all other programs display just fine, including all the Office programs. Only Word is a problem. I've checked all the settings, and they match those on my laptop, so I cannot see any reason for the invisible graphics.

Graphics in Word 2002 (Office XP)

Postby Lexie » Thu, 16 Sep 2004 16:37:35 GMT

I received a Word document with a single graphic pasted on
Page 1. I was unable to view the graphic. Both the
sender and I are running Windows ME. I am running Office
XP with Word 2002.

I have reviewed the Tools/Options/View area and the double-
checked that the Picture placeholders is UNCHECKED and the
Drawings is CHECKED.

However, I was able to view the graphic with ease from my
laptop which is running Word '97 on Windows '95 operating
system.

Could any of the Spyware, Adware programs that I recently
loaded be interfering with this?

I was also unable to view an "e-vite" electronic party
invitation on the same system.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Quite possibly the graphic is linked and was not included with the document.
Press Alt+F9 to see if you see a field code. If the graphic is wrapped, you
will have to make it inline first. If you see a \d switch in the
IncludePicture field, the graphic is linked.

The fact that you have two issues of viewing graphics indicates a systemic
Windows problem, as long as the e-vite was not a Word file. Hmm, try this:
Have your friend send you the graphic as a file. Note its file type, and see
what happens when you try to view it, import it, etc., on your system.

I'm able to use all autoshapes except connectors. For
some reason, they are not active--I can see the icons,
but they are the faint color indicating they are not
available, and nothing happens when I try to click on
them.

How can I activate the connectors or otherwise connect

Thanks!

2.Graphics Problem with Office XP Publisher 2002

My co-workers and I all use XP Publisher 2002 on our computers. We normally
do not have problems importing graphics into our Publisher files, but when we
try to import our company logo into a Publisher document, it makes Publisher
crash and closes the program. We have tried importing our logo in JPEG, TIFF,
EPS, BMP - all to no avail. Any suggestions?

3.word picture is not visible or printable in Word 2002 (Office

Hi CyberTaz,

Those options (Pictures Placeholders and print drawing objects) are already
the way you suggested. Figures inserted from files are visible on screen and
correctly printed. The problem I have is with figures created from word
picture (menu Insert/Object/Word Picture).

Thanks for the reply

4.Cheap Windows XP Professional 2002 & Microsoft Office XP Professional 2002

I just received an e-mail saying "you wont find a better deal", and offering "extremely cheap high-quality software" includding Windows XP Professional 2002 for $50 and Microsoft Office XP Professional 2002 for $60. How can that be when I know that genuine Microsoft software is worth much more

5.Insert graphic in to Word 2002 - graphic does not show

I have a new Windows XP desktop with Word 2002 running on it. When I try to
do Print Screen, paste or insert picture from file, Word thinks that
something is pasted, but the picture or print screen is not visible. Clip art
inserts just fine. I can paste or insert into Excel 2002 just fine. I have
tried running the Office repair, but that didn't make any difference. I need
to be able to paste screen shots into Word for documentation and
troubleshooting. How do I fix this?
