Grussi, Cindy! Thanks for your response --

How do I superimpose a "NO" symbol (circle with slash) on top of some text?
We have Microsoft Office Word 2003 as part of the Microsoft Office
Professional
Edition 2003.

Eddie,

View>Toolbars>Drawing. On the drawing toolbar click AutoShapes>Basic
shapes. There you will find the symbol. Draw it over your text then right
click>format autoshape to format and anchor it to your liking.

2.Drag and drop editing in a doc won't work - I get circle-slash cur

Suddenly Word 2003 has started this strange behavior. If I select a blcok of
text then try and drag and drop it within an open document the cursor becomes
a circle-slash and I cannot drop it anywhere. I can Ctrl-X and then Ctrl-V
the text, but I cannot drag and drop it.

Tools>Options>Edit Drag and drop IS enabled. (turning that off only
disallows the cursor from grabbing the text, no circle-slash appears.)

How do I get rid if this incredible nuisance?

Thanks!

4.word, save as web page, forward slash is reset to backward slash in generated HTML

hi;

I depend heavily on word to generate web pages.
today I found some strange problem.
I am using MS word 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1) on XP.

Inside word, when I create a link, I make sure I change
the link to be all FORWARD slash, i.e. '/' , since this
is what web servers wants.

Then I save word as .doc, followed by save one more
time as web page.

sometimes, do not know how, the links in the html file
remains BACKWARD slash. ie. `\`.

I am now looking at a word file, where the link inside
word is separated by '/' when I created it, then
I saved it as web page, looked at the html generated,
and it is still '\'.

Any ideas what is going on? I have many many files
like these, and need a way to fix them all.

thanks,
mike
