I have always added the "nudge by pixel" to my toolbar. Now that I have Word 2002, I cannot find that choice in toolbar commands. Just Nudge usually nudges too much. I need to be able to nudge by pixel. I am stuck in the middle of a project right now and cannot get my picture to center where I want it Am I going to have to go back to 2000 I was able to find it in All Commands under Drawnudgeleftbypixel, right, up, down, etc Could it be that I am just overlooking it somehow? I have inserted a text watermark but it is not positioned where I want it at, can it be moved downward? - 3. problems updating linked images
When I open a document with linked .wmf files it will display them when scolling down (loading then into memory). When I select a figure, however, the image dissapears and a bock with a small red cros appears. I haven't change any thing and haven't touched anything. When I manually reset the path (edit-links-change source) all is fine and working again. Now the problem is that I would need to do that with hundreds of images in different docs. When I copy past the entire file into a new one, it won't display the images anymore after saving and reopening. ANy thoughts? Cheers Dan - 4. Converting images within Word
We have a number of documents that are getting very large due to the number of sceen print\captures embedded. It was explained that if the images were first converted to jpeg then pasted the files would be smaller. Is there a way to do this entirely within Word (XP or 2000). Idealy I would like to have something scan all the files and do this automatically. Any suggestions? - 5. Grouping Pictures in Word 2002
I had a client call because she was unable to get one picture grouped with some others. I hate to be stupid, but I can't even find out how to group any objects. I saw reference to grouped objects in Word 2002 help, but not how to and I couldn't find anything in the knowledge base. Can someone first tell me where to go to find out how to group objects in Word 2002? And some possible solutions if one doesn't group? I realize that the second may not be possible, because I don't have much information like errors etc... but I think if I have the first part I might be able to figure the rest out. Thanks! Carla

This cannot be done. Text in AutoShapes (or any other text box) can be rotated 90 degrees left or right, period. To rotate text in Word you have to use WordArt. -- Suzanne S. Thanks, Suzanne. The Word "Help" system clearly indicates that text inserted into a Shape will rotate with the Shape. Wonder why Microsoft so often misleads us. David L

The Help has been wrong on this for some time. Interestingly, my Word 2.0 (printed paper) manual got it right (with correct illustrations). -- Suzanne S. The only way I found to solve the problem of text not rotating along with the autoshape is to fool Word into believing that the shape is now a picture; you can rotate pictures. First, on a blank page create your autoshape, insert your text and do all the formating you need. Then copy the autoshape on the page where it will be used but not on the picture or chart yet. Then click Edit, Paste Special, Microsoft Picture and you've now inserted a "picture" on the page. Grab the corner and stick it wherever you need it and you can format size, etc. (as a whole - not individual components of the autoshape) through the format picture menu.
