I have a large Word document that contains pictures (typically in Microsoft's Picture format). These objects are visible in Print Layout view, but do not appear in Print Preview. And when I print, the objects do NOT print -- but all the text around them does. How do I fix this? I am using Word 2000 and Windows 2000 Professional. Here are a few things I have already tried, with no success: 1) Reducing the hardware acceleration setting. 2) Restarting, and making sure that my system has plenty of available memory. 3) Grouping several objects together; or ungrouping them (neither works). Thanks for any suggestions.

My images are distorted when rotated. They looks okay on the screen, but looks smudge when printing. Using Word 2002. Someone suggested I copy the image to Powerpoint and rotate from there, then paste back into Word. It was still smudge and distorted. Thanks for any ideas.

One user can't insert a watermark because the Background option is grayed out in the Format drop down. Error appears: This feature is disabled because it is not compatible with Microsoft Word 6.0/95. How do you enable this feature in Word 2003? The full version of Office 2003 was installed with all converters. This error happens even with new documents.

Linking to a portion of a Visio diagram

Postby R2FzX1BpcGVfQmlsbA » Fri, 11 May 2007 02:32:02 GMT

I need the ability to link to only a portion of a Visio diagram. I am trying
to describe a set of Services and Applications contained within a module and
my supervisor does not want individual Visio diagrams. However, to properly
describe an individual Service or Application, I need its corresponding Visio
diagram. My idea is to be able to link to only a portion of the overall
Visio diagram.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

1.Linking Visio Diagrams to Word Documents

Within a sharepoint document library we have a visio file and a word document.

We link the visio diagrams into the word doc so when the visio diagram
changes the word document will prompt us to update the links which will
automatically insert the updated visio. We link the diagram by right
clicking on the diagram and choosing "Copy Drawing." We then go to the word
document and paste special and choose "paste link" as a "Microsoft Visio
Drawing Object" then choose OK. The object is now visible in Word.

After the doc is saved, closed and then we go back into the word doc is
where we have issues.

When we open the word doc with links we get the following prompt. "this
document contains links that may refer to other files. Do you want to update
this document with the data from the linked files? Yes is selected.

After the document thinks for a minute, the next message that appears is
"Objects in this document contain links to files that cannot be found. The
linked information will not be updated. OK is the only option.

The Word doc comes back and the updated visios are NOTpresent.

We don't have a problem if the files are stored outside of Sharepoint and we
have no problem if the visio is stored outside of Sharepoint. We only have
an issue when both files are stored in Sharepoint.

Let me know if you need further details.

3.problems on linked visio diagrams

Hi! I have a master document which contains links to visio diagrams. The
master document and the visio diagrams are on Share Point and are saved in
separate folders. The Visio diagrams contains macros.

My problem is that the updated Visio diagrams do not show up in the master
document. Manually updating the links cause errors -- it says it couldn't
find the file. What do you think is wrong?

Thanks.

5.Linked Visio Diagram doesn't print properly

I've pasted a link from my visio diagrams to Word, but the text on the
diagrams prints with tiny vertical lines on the first letter of each of the
words. Those lines do not appear when I preview the document, but appear on
the print. The font I'm using is Arial, and I've tried changing the font,
but that does not change anything. When I print straight from Visio, the
text prints normally without those lines, but when I try to put the diagrams
in Word, then it prints with lines.

Help!!. How do I get rid of those lines??
