No screen display of text box infill and line colours

  • 1. Compress a Graphic
Using Word 2002 SP3 When formatting a graphic, there is a button on the Picture tab called 'Compress'. It appears that if you downward resize a graphic or Crop a graphic and then Compress it, the file size should be smaller. I have tried this with both a regular photograph in JPG and a clipart, and I do not get any reduction in file size. Can anyone explain why this does not appear to work. It seems like the same feature as you find in PowerPoint which does appear to work. -- Brenda
  • 2. drawing object will not delete
I have a drawing object (a box and a line) that will not delete. I have tried to cut and paste, it will paste but does not remove the original box (essentially working like the copy function). I have checked properties and nothing looks abnormal. Any suggestions?
  • 3. How do I get letters to type in a U shape
I'm trying to type so that I get different heights with the letters. Similar to a wave effect or U shape but just so it's not in a straight line...anyone know how to get that effect or do I need a special program. Thanks, Adrienne

I've been trying to create an organizational chart using the labeled hierarchy style. It has been giving me fits. The autofit feature (which is apparently turned on and I'm not allowed to disable) insists on only resizing horizontally, not vertically, which means that any adjustments just makes everything else smaller and I am unable to make fonts or shapes larger. Also, one small change further down the hierarchy resizes everything above it in a disproportionately large way. Any ideas?

No screen display of text box infill and line colours

Postby TWFsY29zMDA1 » Fri, 30 Dec 2005 06:58:03 GMT

When using Word 2003 and creating a text box I am unable to fill it with
colour and the boder lines remain black. I can enter coloured text without
problem. The text box prints correctly with the coloured infill and lines
selected. How do I get these colours to appear on the screen display ?

In Windows Control Panel | Accessibility Options | Display, make sure "Use
High Contrast" is not checked.

2.Not printing graphics and text box colours or borders

I am using 2008 on a MacPro and when I try to print anything other regular text I get a blank. For example, I have put text boxes into the document and inserted a picture. Another text box inside the first one holds the text. This has a blue background and border but the colour and the picture fails to print. Another example I have three column table with arrows drawn from the left had column to the right hand one. The arrows do not print.<br>
In print preview the graphics are missing and the page is blank at that point. I am trying to print on an HP Laserjet 2605dn or Canon I4000 and using 10.5.1.<br>

5.Word Combo boxes still displayed on screen during scrolling

Hi all

I have got a couple of Word combo boxes in my document, which are used
to select values from a drop down list.

The problem is when I scroll up/down the screen using the mouse
clicked on the word scroll bar, instead of the combo boxes scrolling
up out with the page as the page goes out of view they remain painted
on the screen floating above the scrolling text in the background.
When I release the mouse button the combo boxes disappear from screen
and return to their normal positions, which is now out of view. I've
tried everything including removing the focus from the combo boxes
before scrolling but to no avail.

I tried other design objects like list boxes, text boxes etc and get
the same problem.

Has any one come across this problem before?

How do I get the objects on the screen to scroll with the text instead
of floating and remaining on the screen when I use the scroll bar to
scroll up/down from that page?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
