Hi there! We just migrated to Word 2003 Sp1 from Word 2000. Now, we have problems with docs that contain .cgm pics, they just dont show up. Cgm-graphic filter is there as it was in word 2000 and we can get the test image from it. We have 'drawing' checked and 'picture placeholder' unchecked. If we use file-web page preview, we can see all pictures. The cgm-files are exported the same way as when we had word 2000. any help appreciated :) -- /Andreas

We upgraded from windows 98 / word 2000 9.0.2720 to XP/ word 2003 and have a problem with word files having drawn lines on a form being displayed property under word 2003. The lines do not line up the same in word 2003 and other items have shifted. Is it a problem with different grid settings? How can this be fixed? Any thoughts? Thanks

printing partially transparent Autoshapes in Word 2003

Postby TGVl » Sun, 17 Apr 2005 08:25:03 GMT

I am trying to print a picture I have made, using a number of partially
transparent Autoshapes to mask different sections of the picture. It looks
great on screen, and even in print preview, however when I print (Canon
Lasershot 2410 - drivers updated, and even in Microsoft Office Document Image
Writer), none of the transparencies come out. All appear as it set to
transparency 0%. I have tried a number of settings to no avail, any help
would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Terry - I will try it on a different printer in my office or maybe
stop trying to have it do things like double side and staple. Maybe by just
making it simple for the printer will allow it to happen.

2.How to print a document partially landscape and partially portrai

I have a word document that starts out portrait and then switches to
landscape about half way through. It looks fine when I scroll through the
document but when I try to print - it comes out all portrait - and it just
shrinks the text in the landscape section to fit the portrait. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

3.transparent region within a non-transparent region

I have a Word document with a picture. The whole picture is covered with a
50% transparent object. So the picture looks like insensitive.
I would like to create a region which is not covered with the 50%
transparent object.
So I can see the original picture. This region uses different shapes.
How do I do something like this?
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

4.Many partially transparent moving objects

I have scene with a number of objects which are partially transparent. To
render the alphablending correctly, I need to render back to front, but with
intersecting objects or objects which are sometimes concave, this is not
just a matter of sorting by distance from object center.

I am considering building a bsp tree to sort the rendering, but theobjects
are moving around invarious ways, so I would have to build it every frame,
which would seem inefective.

How would you normally go about rendering a non static scene consisting of
concave objects which are partially transparent?

5.Partially Printing Word Documents

OS: XP
Office: XP sp2

I print a document in word and sometimes only part of the
document prints. It is like it just cuts it off where
ever it wants. The odd thing is it happens only some of
the times. I have updated everything...Still happens.
Does anyone have this problem and if so what should I do?
