pasting from Powerpoint 2007 to Word 2007 - no ungroup funtionalit

  • 1. Where's an HPGL converter for Word 2007?
I upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2007 and now I can't import HPGL pictures into my Word documents! ARGGHH! I have a lot of applications that write and produce HPGL files, and I like to import them into Word. Does anyone know if Microsoft has a converter for Word 2007 like the one for Word 2000 that used to work, but no longer works? Thanks.
  • 2. PP2007 object becomes jaggedy
I have a PP2007 power point slide that contains an org chart. When I bring it into Word 2007 as an inserted object set with text wrapping as in-line, it makes the lines of the org boxes and the connector lines jagged. Other text-wrapping types and it doesn't get jaggedy. However, I do not want floating graphics because of their potential to wander on the page. The image needs to come in as an object so user's can edit it. I did insert the .png version of the slide and it looks great, but this doesn't meet the user's editing needs Any ideas on how to overcome this weirdness? I cross-posted on PP forum too.
  • 3. Word converting charts to pictures...
I have a report with some powerpoint charts. For some reason, Microsoft word keeps converting all my charts into images. I am then unable to manipulate the chart, as it is no longer a chart. Does anyone know why this would be happening, or what I can do to prevent it?
  • 4. Resizing shapes in smartart
I am helping someone with a hierarchy chart using SmartArt in Word 2007. We are not able to find a way to select all shapes and make them a uniform size at once. Is there a way to do that with SmartArt?

pasting from Powerpoint 2007 to Word 2007 - no ungroup funtionalit

Hello, I've built several different detailed organizational charts in
PowerPoint 2007 that has taken me days to accomplish. I've pasted them into
Word 2007 without issues until I realized that it pastes the PowerPoint data
in grouped format and I'm unable to ungroup it. If I ungroup the data in
Powerpoint, select multiple objects, copy, and paste into Word, it's grouped
as a single option and there is no option to ungroup. I need to hyperlink
each imported object in word to bookmarks within the same document and cannot
do so since it sees all of my objects as one entity. Is there any way to
copy the data over and still retain ungrouped capabilties? I dread having to
rebuild all of the charts from scratch within Words drawing canvas.

Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Thank you,

2.Create complex graphics in Visio 2007 to use in PowerPoint 2007

What happened to the ability to cut and paste complex geometric shapes from
Visio into PowerPoint? Used to be you could paste, then right-click, choose
Visio object and Convert, now you have to Paste Special, embed Visio object,
then right-click, choose Visio object, convert and nothing happens. I have a
need to introduce accurate elements created in Autocad or Visio that aren't
easy to create or modify in PowerPoint. This used to work now it doesn't. A
workaround would be fine, but pasting the object as a picture gives me no

3.Word 2007: Paste Special Excel Chart Object as Paste Link

When I do this the charts are cropped at the bottom which leaves out
important information like the horizontal axis and legend. I was able to fix
some of these charts by resetting the margins on the chart worksheet in Excel
2007 to Normal i.e. .75,.7,.75,.7 but this doesn't seem to fix the problem
across the board. Resizing the image in Word only stretches it out. The
only other option is to apply a negative crop in Word.

Any ideas? Let me know if more information is required.

4.preserve graphics format when pasting from PowerPoint 2000 to 2007

When I copy text and drawing objects from an existing ppt slide into a 2007
slide (97-2003 format), some of the graphics's features are altered, e.g.:
fill colour. I've tried pasting as a MS Office Graphic Object, and even
copying the entire slide over. I've tried grouped objects and individual
objects, and the colours are all changed, which will require many hours of
revision. How can I get Office 2007 to honour the original formatting? I
need to be able to alter these drawing objects if required, so pasting in a
uneditable format is not an option.

5.Word 2007 changes format of inserted Visio 2007 object

I have a Visio 2007 org chart inserted into W2007. When in Word, I change
text wrapping from "in front of text" to "in-line text," all the drawing's
bullets change from round filled circles to unfilled squares. YUK!

I need this editable within Word for other users and so do not want to place
a picture of the same drawing instead. Any ideas on why is this happening and
how can I prevent this?
